“MUCH BETTER TO SAMPLE IN WINE COUNTRY”
Reviewed April 2, 2014

My wife and I were visiting some of the wineries in the Sonoma and Napa Valley areas and we decided to check out this location. The view is beautiful however, the wine tasting here is pricey and there was nothing we tasted that compared to any of the other places we checked out. My impression is that they are trying harder to create a wine tasting "experience" than they are trying to produce a quality and appetizing product. We were treated with a lot of information about how a Spanish wine maker (Freixenet) bought this property and how they made everything better. At $20 to taste three unremarkable wines, we don't see where things are "better". There are many locations in this area where you get a much better deal for your time and money. I recommend trying someplace else as this will be a better investment of your time, money, and relaxation time.

“Gotta love the bubbles!”
Reviewed March 26, 2014

We stopped in yesterday for some bubbles. My favorite is the Brut Rose, but we decided on sharing a bottle of Blanc De Noir. (Good to know---there is a two glass max per person, but you can share on bottle...extra half glass!) We are members of their wine club. When the weather is good we love to sit on the patio with our dog. Since it's a bit chilly, we left the dog at home and sat inside. All servers are great. Kelly happens to be our favorite, but seriously, everyone is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They serve light snacks with the wines. In the summer it was smoked, spiced almonds & chocolate wafers. They have changed back to winter "menu" and it's the same almonds with olives.

“I would say "just average"”
Reviewed March 3, 2014

The property is beautiful. The tasting room was busy but not sure why. The wines here were nothing to write home about, in my opinion. Takes a lot of time to prduce good sparkling wine using the the Champagne Method. Didn't get the impression that time was utilized well. Most of what we tasted lacked a little something, especially on the finish. Wine, however, is like art. Clearly a lot of folks like these wines.

“Superb Sonoma Sojourn”
Reviewed February 23, 2014 via mobile

What a nice way to spend a weekend afternoon. Sitting on the patio overlooking the southern end of the Sonoma valley, sipping sparkling wine and taking in the sun while tourist watching. Join their club and enjoy an upscale experience. The wines are quite nice and the staff helpful. Cheer!

“Not that great”
Reviewed December 31, 2013 via mobile

Public tour does not go to the caves. Guide said he was a beer man who was only into the wine because it was free for him. Seems like it would be better to have someone who likes wine. Guide said we could not go into the caves because the body heat from our small group would interfere with the temperature of the 5000 sq foot caves. We found out if you pay more for the upgraded tour then you can see the caves. Generous tasting pours but you cannot pick what you want to taste. Setting very nice with outdoor seating. You can bring your own food for a picnic.
