The room was very nice a little small but really nice and comfortable. The bed was very supportive and the linens very very nice. The restaurant was superb. Being right on the square was a wonderful place to be able to walk to wine tastings, historic attractions and restaurants.
The small complaint we had was the heating system while effective was a little noisy when it kicked in. We had it set to auto fan and would have been less intrusive if we had set it to low.

Mr. Patrickcole2015,

We appreciate the time taken to leave a review - we are so lucky to have such an amazing restaurant downstairs, and a wonderful plaza to indulge during a visit. We recently had each HVAC serviced for annual maintenance and apologize for any nuisances the condenser caused.

Our best,

The El Dorado Team

We hadn''t been to the El Dorado on a prior trip to Sonoma so we made it a point to go this year. The food and service did not disappoint.
I opted for the New York Steak since I rarely eat steak and my wife ordered the Seafood Paella. My wife said it was the best since she had since Europe and my steak and accompaniments were great, the steak was rare as ordered and very flavorful. Our server was a delight.

Great food, excellent and very clean room. The location is stellar for those looking for the wine country vibe. Located on historic Sonoma square, this is an easy jump off point by foot or by car to any of the local eateries, vineyards and tasting rooms. Overall a great space for those looking for a quiet, yet adventurous retreat from the big city! A little on the pricey side- but loved it!

My husband and I booked a one night stay at El Dorado Hotel to celebrate his birthday in one of our favorite places, wine country. For a short getaway, this hotel is just perfect! You will be within a stone's throw to the shady Sonoma square, the boutiques, wine tasting rooms and the lovely cafes/restaurants that make up the heart of Sonoma. The El Dorado Restaurant is one of our favorites in town, located just downstairs. There is also a lovely terrace and pool for when the weather is warm. The rooms are on the small side, with a nod to the historic roots of the place. Finishes and linens are all nicely updated. We also found great value for our stay compared to other local resorts. Service was friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front of the hotel, facing the square, have better views but do have traffic noise in the early morning hours.

The location, the service and the room were of a Luxury hotel without the cost.
The room was very spacious and beautiful and quiet for being right on the square. I recommend the breakfast at the hotel as well.
