The location of this restaurant is just the beginning of everything it offers. It is also a quaint hotel and sits right in the middle of Sonoma square. The food is extremely fresh and seasonal, and very reasonably priced. It has a modern, upscale farmhouse feel, and serves locally sourced food with great ingredient combinations. I like how clean the menu is. There is not a hundred options, just a nice selection of great food and some of the best local wine. It is the restaurant representation of sophisticated simplicity that is Sonoma.

We stayed at the El Dorado for 3 days. We were lucky to get a king poolview room 18. The room was on the 2nd floor, last one in the hall on the quieter side. Although it is small, it was nicely appointed. They have complimentary coffee in an alcove on the 2nd floor every morning from 7-11. It is delicious, high quality coffee. And there's an expresso maker & fridge in the room too. Everyone we encountered was very friendly & professional. A special shout out to Cynthia for arranging an add'l night for us in the same room. We know juggling accommodations is not easy! They also give you some discounts for wine tasting in the square. We enjoyed Tuesday night farmer's market in the square, as well as shopping, dining & people watching. The hotel is the perfect location steps away from the square. We also enjoyed bfast every day at the Sunflower cafe right next door. Terrific food. Stay at the El Dorado. You will be glad you did. Thank you to Christine the manager for running a fine hotel.

I would have loved the hotel if it wasn't for all the noise and light coming in from the outside. I was in room 2, which is on the corner of two "major" roads in Sonoma. At night you got the noise of all those happy, drunk vacationers leaving the surrounding restaurants and bars, and early in the morning, you got the sound of heavy vehicles (street cleaners?) There was also a VERY bright street lamp right outside the room, and the shutters didn't cut it.

If light and noise do not bother you then the hotel is great. Nice, clean bright rooms, free tea and coffee in the morning, and attentive staff. And there are great cocktails in the bar!

Room tip: A room facing the courtyard might be quieter.

Mr. or Mrs. 3Woodstorks,

Thank you very much for your feedback! The hotel is indeed located on a corner full of bustle in the evenings. Might we suggest booking one of our interior facing rooms should you come back to enjoy some more of the EDK cocktails. Our courtyard king rooms overlook the restaurant courtyard and pool area.

Went here with four other couples. Food and service were excellent. I had huevos rancheros; hubs had eggs Benedict. Others in our party had fish tacos and ahi salad. Everything was excellent and service was very attentive.

We had a party of 8 and were seated by the pool, in a cabana. I liked it better than in the inside as it was less noisy. That said, the inside was also full of vibe and atmosphere so it would have been nice, but sitting by the pool, with a nice a breeze and a delightful sunset was the better choice. The service was great as was the food. A definite keeper as far as the dinning is concerned, but we have no knowledge of the hotel accommodations as we only came there to eat.
