Tried Danish meatballs but I just didn't like them, that's all. Waiter very nice and friendly. My husband and I were there on a Thursday night and there wasn't much selection for evening eating.

Thank Marilyn M

Had the Danish meatloaf, it was very good. Fresh mushrooms in the gravy were an added treat. Red cabbage was better than most. Owner very friendly and accommodating. Very nice parking for handicapped persons.

This a must for lunch or dinner. It was so nice to have such a large selection of authentic Danish dishes. The food was wonderful and so was the staff. Our waited was really fun and could tell us all we wanted to know about the various options. Parking is available right outside of the restaurant with handicap access. Food was delivered at the right temperature and it was plentiful and delicious.

OK, so here we are in Solvang, CA, in a "Danish village" and, in addition to the visual experience, there are taste buds to satisfy. We opted for the Mustard Seed because it offered Danish fare. Not being overly hungry (we had "dessert" at Mortensen's Danish Bakery earlier), we shared an excellent dish consisting of sausage and meatballs, with mashed potatoes and honest-to-goodness red cabbage. The sausage was nice and spicey with a hint of nutmeg, the way I remember from a visit, long ago, to Denmark. Good food, great service, reasonable prices!

We took a late evening stroll around Solvang and quite a few places looked shut so we decided to stop at the Mustard Seed as there were a couple of people eating in there. The staff seemed really friendly and gave of a family vibe. The restaurant itself it quite quirky and kitsch but it’s in keeping with Solvang and we liked this. I ordered the meatloaf however it seemed like any regular meatloaf and nothing Danish about it, and my husband ordered the fish and chips. The portions were big and the food definitely came across as home cooked however there was nothing remarkable about it. When it came to pay we went to the counter as we’d been waiting a while for someone to come by with the check and instead of being given it we were just told the total. It came to $48 dollars which seems a lot for two main meals and two soft drinks. We added another $8 for a tip and left feeling like our pockets had seriously been emptied!! Thinking about it we should have questioned the bill but we were so shocked we just paid it and left. Not sure we would go back...
