I moved to the heart of santa Barbara county's AVAs in 2017. The first and only winery I joined? Rideau. The wines song like a lark in the morning. The staff envelops you like honey on the tongue. Reza poured rose out of an unlabeled bottle that he obtained from an unreleased first pressed. His warm manner was accommodating, gracious, and thoughtful to th extent that I felt like an old friend. Niki shares insider tips on bling bling jewelery, case specials, and solvang eateries. Megan is a master of metaphors and descriptors. Matthieu hand crafts sea salt, caramel, and chocolate into tarts that would bring a stoic to tears. Sean and Seth are always making the experience of tasting, wining, and dining as seamless as possible. While away the hours in the best way possible.

Many wineries in the area, but this one distinguished by its lovely grounds, multiple rooms and good wine. Tasting flight fee removed with purchase, which isn’t hard to do given the quality of the wines. Knowledgeable staff, pleasant service, convivial atmosphere. Good afternoon activity.

We took a Lyft to Rideau, because we didn't want to drink and drive. They were easily available and costed about 8-10 dollars each way. The wines on our tasting flight were amazing and the grounds were fantastic. We took a picnic purchased from the supermarket near our hotel and ate it on the benches outside, which was a great move. I think there were cheeseboards available. They were setting up the event for a wedding in the evening which was fun to watch. We took the afternoon tour with Stephen, which turned into a 45-minute private tour where he showed us everything about the vineyard and shared loads of incredible wine knowledge he had been studying over the years. We left having purchased a delicious bottle of Pinot Noir 'Garey'.

At our hotels suggestion we visited Rideau Vinyard . What a lovely place. The staff was friendly and informative. We tried a Reserve wine tasting and then was invited to a very informative free tour of the vineyard. The tour is included when you purchase a tasting. It was very interesting and lasted about 45 minutes.
It was a lovely afternoon. Afterward we stopped at a local market , got a picnic lunch and visited Fess Parker winery for another tasting followed by a lovely picnic. Perfect vacation day !

Recently visited for wine tasting. It was on a weekday (Tuesday), so there was only one person attending the counter/wine tastings. At first, that was not an issue, but then there were three more groups of visitors (total of 9 people), following our arrival. She seemed to get a bit distracted and we would have to remind her what wine in our flights were next to try.

In the end, we did purchase two wines. So, the wait was "okay," but wished they would have had more people working it.

I will say that we had the opportunity to meet one of the assistant wine makers and we learned a lot from her, so that was a bonus!
