Yeah IM sure the folks on the train minded the pizza smell as I walked on with a pie from this place but it was really good and very close to track two..so if your heading north, grab a pie and jump on!

When the larder is empty and the unruly mob clamors for a multi-cheese pie, beware of the shoal waters and steer your vessel straight for the friendly port on the Pizza coastline. Fortunately, they serve beer even when the pizza is not up to par.

I must say that I have consumed many an acceptable pie while hoisting a pint at the Pizza Port. But as life resembles a game of chance, be ye duly notified that the Port reserves the right to prepare a pie that they believe is worthy of your personality. Even if your personality deficiencies are glaringly obvious to all you may still end up with a pie that is superior to that which your deficient personality deserves.

When you crave a noisy establishment where hand-washing is a lost art, crowded to the point of not finding a seat and packed with kids, head for the Port. It will remind you of the many reasons why you left home.

The pizza was awful. A shaker of oregano is not an antidote for the lack of a zesty pizza sauce. The meat tasted "odd". Sure, the crust is all right, but be sure to scrape off the toppings first. The ambiance is beachy, but it's more kitsch than original, and what there is gets marred by serve-yourself we don't care utensil and take-home box on the shelves. Honestly, get yourself a good frozen pizza from Vons and save yourself an oregano attack. Better yet, travel out to the Golden Acorn Casino for a good pizza. It's not like you can see the beach from here anyway.

Well I should first state that my husband and I are two 50 somethings on vacation in the area for like our 20th time so we are aware that this area is busy, busy, busy during the summer months,
so we expect a lot of families. However, we did not expect the experience to be quite so loud, crowded and jam packed with kids, mostly under the age of ten. If the arcade type games at the back of the establishment were taken out, they could add additional seating, which is desperately needed. The pizza was good - not great, but decent. The beer we choose was not to my liking,
advertised as a summer ale, however it was very bitter. My husband thought it was ok and he is the beer drinker in our house. We also have visited numerous breweries throughout the U.S. and we only drink speciality beers at home. So we do have a point of reference in our opinions.

Tons of local beers on draft with knowledgeable servers. Pizza is excellent as well, with many non-traditional options. Have been to both the Solana Beach and Ocean Beach stores, and basically are very similar food/drink-wise. Kind of prefer the ambiance of the Solana Beach store. Order at the counter and find a seat--can be crowded and you'll be sharing a table. Great SD experience; we eat here often with no issues.
