I recommend getting some of their specialty pizzas. They are not cheap, but not ridiculously priced either - and they have some creative things.
The San Clemente is my favorite - instead of tomato sauce it is a black bean sauce. Sounds weird but it is amazing.
The craft brews are award winning.
The downfall of this place is 1. parking and 2. crowds.
It can be very crowded, so if you have a group you are really pushing for a space for you all to sit together unless you're there at an off-time. And the parking is rough right now because there is construction along the main street there. We parked about 3 blocks away and it was a Wednesday at 2pm (about as off-time as you can get) - I'm sure in the summer and/or weekends/evenings it is a nightmare trying to find a place to park.

Very impressed with the beer selection, great atmosphere to have a couple of drinks away from the sun. The pizza is not thin crust, it is thick crust, you can make whatever value judgment you want on that front.

I took guests from KS who were looking for microbrews and we we were not disappointed. It was Sat about 6 pm and crowded with families & kids, singles & couples.

It's self-serve. Order one of the specialty pizzas (go online for menu), or create your own as we did with broccoli, portobellos, pepperoni & jalapenos. The salads are fresh and flavorful, and there is a huge one to share with family or friends. Then go to the "bar" counter for beer or soft drinks. They even have cranberry juice, which I mix with lemonade and it's gr8. Find a seat wherever you can (outside counter faces Hwy 101) and wait for your order. (We didn't try the wings or vegi basket, but they looked and smelled good.

The portions are large and food very fresh & flavorful. They have video games for kids and I was surprised at how many families with kids were there. The downside is that it is very noisy.

I got a flier with nightly $3 pint beer specials or wings & bread sticks, so I'll return to sample more of the fare. Oh, yes, they had many TV's with college football games for the sports fans.

There was also a huge take-out business with a steady stream of folks picking-up orders.

Pizza Port is a required stop anytime we visit the San Diego area. They offer a number of specialty pizzas with a creative combination of toppings that are all very good. The wings are also good and the salads are always freshly prepared. They also have a wide selection of local beers on tap.
I have previously been to the Carlsbad location, but we recently visited the Solana Beach restaurant. Same great pizza and locally brewed beer, but the Solana Beach location is smaller and much louder. (I prefer the larger space in Carlsbad) There is some outdoor seating that allows you to sit out front eating pizza and swilling beers while watching the maniacs go by on their road bikes!

Pizza port Solana Beach is one of four other(soon to be five) locations. It is the first of the four. Nestled in the heart of Solana Beach right on hwy 101 this place has perfect location.
The pizza however is doughy and the noise level is unbearable. Don't go on a Friday night! The house beers are ok and the guest taps could be worth a trip for a pint or two
