We stayed at the Winner's Circle for 7 nights in early October. We are timeshare owners there, but hadn't stayed there since 2006. They have built a new clubhouse which has a big screen tv, a pool table, books you can check out, boardgames to use. There is also a ping pong table outside of the clubhouse. The pool is heated and nice, warm enough that I even got in and swam. Hot tub is very nice too. Pool deck furnishings are all new and very comfortable and there is a nice firepit with furniture around it as well. Room was clean and the beds are very comfortable. I slept like I was at home. Staff was great. Only one slight problem, the drain in the bathtub would not close. I told the front desk, and there was someone up to fix it in less than 15 minutes. It only took about 30 minutes for it to be fixed. I appreciated the fact that they were so quick about it, because it didn't interfere with our time to have fun. Laundry facilities are available and I used it twice. Machines worked well. I did two loads of wash at one time, but only had enough change left for 1 dryer and everything still was dry. That was nice. We had a party of 3 (2 adults and a 6 year old). We had guests (my mother-in-law, my 2 older sons and my nephew) come by to visit and it was no problem to get them a parking pass to park in the lot. I would recommend the Winner's Circle to anyone. It's about 2 blocks off of I-5, but can't hear any noise from the freeway. Near the Del Mar Racetrack (for the fair, races, and Halloween haunted houses); mini-golf; the Fish Market Restaurant; and close to 13th Street Beach in Del Mar (about 5 minute drive).

We have been visiting SanDiego for the past 10 years. We usually rent a house on the boardwalk at Mission Beach.
This year we decided to stay at the Winners Circle Resort and to do some Surfing. We have a family of 7 ranging in years from our oldest son,27 to our youngest daughter 13. We found the winners circle a great location. We would get up in the morning and drive the PCH between Solana and Oceanside and just pick a beach that looked to have some great rides.

We found the Winners Circle to be a great place to relax and barbeque after a day at the beach. The staff was friendly. We had a courtyard room that allowed excellent access to the pool and barbeque area's. They also have a great firepit to make smores or roast weenies in the evening. A word to the wise, the pool area and firepit close at 10:00pm. it kind of nice, people retire to their room or patios at that time to enjoy a there favorite blend.

Parking was kind of a hassle but we always found a place. There are grocery stores near by just off the 5 that made it convenient and affordible to eat.

We had such a good time that we have already rented the same unit for 2009.

The Winner's Circle Resort looks old and smelled moldy. The halls had the heavy smell of Lysol disinfectant. My two teenage sons gagged every time we had to go through the hall to the outside door. The carpets were dirty and in need of replacing.
We stayed on the second floor in room 241.It was a one bedroom with a hide-a-bed in the living room and one bathroom for 4 people. When we turned on the heating, the room ended up smelling musty. We kept the sliding doors open to allow fresh air in, as we were all getting stuffy noses and sore throats. The sliding doors were open when we arrived, that should have clued us into the fact the air quality was not good in the room.
There were not enough blankets and when we requested more, we only got one blanket. The T.V. did not get good reception.
The good points about this place are the reception area was open 24 hours and looked clean and up-to date when we walked in. The club house is updated with a new T.V. and has a pool table. The pool outside is clean and there is a ping pong table outside. The gas bar-b-ques needs up dating. The grounds are kept up and look nice.
We do not recommend staying here.

We booked our stay through an RCI trade, and considered it a great trade. The outside of the resort is a bit dated and shows signs of wear. The resorts units are all in the process of being refurbished so maybe once they are completed they will work on the exterior. The interior pool area was beautiful with a nice sized pool, jacuzzi and grilling area (top of the line stainless steel grills). This area was landscaped beautifully with flowers palm trees etc...A wonderful place to relax after a long day of sight seeing. The room we stayed in (a mini suite) was newly refinished with new furniture, very clean and had maid service every day. It had a queen sized bed, a small table with two chairs and a mini kitchen and full bathroom. It was perfert for my husband and I. Our unit had a patio that opened right to the pool. We loved it!! The resort is very clean and the staff was very curtious and pleasant. The resort is located directly across the street from Del Mar Race Track which was closed at the time, but would be convient to visit during open season. The resort is in a wonderful location for sight seeing in the area. Close to La Jolla, San Diego, Old Town, Mission Bay, Torry Pines ( a must see) Del Mar....Just a great an convient location. We arrived early and were checked in right away. Definately worth the visit we would return!!

We were at Winner's Circle for the first time this year. The apartment was great, as was the location. We liked it so much we are back there next year.

My wife and I traded a week of our timeshare to stay at this San Diego area resort. The previous reviews are right; it is aging, but they do keep it up fairly well. We had a 1 bedroom condo and kitchen. The condo was nice and clean, although it was starting to get to be that time to replace carpets, do simple touch-ups in the bathrooms, just little things. The suite was functional. The kitchen had everything we needed - even tupperware for leftovers. The balcony overlooked the street, but the view was still nice. The pool and hot tub was clean and adequate. There were barbecues outside by the pool, and the supermarket was about 1/2 mile down Via de la Valle. The staff was very polite on check-in and check-out.

The resort is about 1 block off I-5, but you can't hear the traffic that much. Very convenient - only 20 min drive to all the attractions of San Diego and surrounding area (about 2 hours to Orange County attractions). There are malls down the street and many restaurants. The beach is about 1/2 mile away, about the same as the train station. You definitely need a car, and parking was really not that bad - they give you a pass, and they keep the restaurant patrons out of the parking lot below the units. We never tried the tennis courts.

It was a great timeshare holiday, and a very nice resort.

This is an older resort, but very clean with modern and comfortable furniture and applicances. The only drawback was that the parking was not adequate for guests. Much of the front parking lot was used for valet parking for the nearby restaurant.

Isn't a lot to do if you have children. I brought my 14-year-old daughter and 11-year-old niece. They played ping pong and swam. That was the extent of the activities. Because Solana Beach is so close to the beach (less than a mile), we spent a lot of time checking the different beaches out. Solana Beach is a nice surfer town. They have Cedros District which has funky, different galleries, shops, and restaurants. Nearby is Del Mar, Carlsbad and La Jolla. Solana Beach is about 20-30 minutes from San Diego.

Solano itself is town you can appreciate on foot. It is quaint with its one-of-a-kind shops and galleries.

Driving isn't bad (unless you go during the horse racing season, you will come across traffic on the main street Via De Valle).

Solano is small so I would recommend having a car.
