“Much larger than expected”
Reviewed April 10, 2013

Much more to see than we expected. Learned a lot about him and came away very impressed. The set-up is broken up into little sections with short, entertaining movies with comfortable benches frequently, so that even an old lady like me could sit and not be tired! Air Force One is there, as well as a part of the Berlin Wall. A little self-serve pub in lower section with a few little gifts, such as fudge, memorabilia, etc. was a welcome surprise, since this takes hours. The restrooms were the cleanest I've ever seen. This was very well done. Our teens went to see the Disney exhibit that is also there. The Reagan part was too long for them and they put a damper on our experience, so I'd advise leaving children home.

“Great Visit”
Reviewed April 10, 2013

We came here from Canada with our 10-year-old son and we were heading to the Getty Villa so we decided to drop in. It was great. There was so much to take in that I would like to go back. Air Force One was great and the exhibits were wonderful. Of course, Reagan had a background in Hollywood so that was very interesting but the political and international aspects of his life were also very well done. I sometimes hesitate to take a 10-year-old to historical places such as a Presidential Library but my son loved it. Lots of short films, pictures, a replica of the Oval Office and all in a beautiful location.

“Very detailed, lots of original items on display, even Disney stuff!”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

There was honestly more detail about his life, both personal and professional, than I needed, but it was very informative. Highlight was seeing AIR FORCE ONE! The real one! pretty cool. Also there is an amazing Disney museum I didn't even know was there, with incredible originals such as THE Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and a ton of new stuff like Ironman and Pirates of the Caribbean memorabilia. Worth the drive,.

“Politics aside, it's a beautiful view from the hill”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

I'm not a Reagan fan. My love of jelly-beans is about all we would have agreed on. That being said, the Reagan library is a nice place to wander around. We arrived early (opens at 10AM) and got decent parking up front. This didn't seem especially wonderful until we left and saw people parked on the sides of the road all the way down the hill. Following the advice of the website, we purchased our tickets online before heading out. This really made no difference, as we still had to wait in line with everyone who wanted to buy tickets that day. They didn't check the "entry time" or anything. The library itself is well laid out, with interesting information and docents. The AirForce One room is quite spectacular, though the inside of the plane was somewhat less than I had anticipated. Cool all the same. At this point the tour direction gets a little lost, but if you take the elevators back to the top floor and double back you get into the Disney Exhibit. The opportunity to see these rare artifacts was really exceptional (closes April 30). After we were all through, there was a huge line at the cafe for a relatively non-exciting menu (standard fare ,burgers and sandwiches). The bathrooms were closed at the cafe despite the crowd. The back lawn has a piece of the Berlin wall against a picturesque valley view. Perhaps the most interesting (depressing?) part of the day was the observation that we are in the same place we were as a nation (if not worse off) when Reagan was in office.

“nice 3 hour tour”

Great historical travl through time. Airforce one looks like it is flying through the valley. What a beautiful setting for a spectacular feat of fitting the president's airplane into the library!
