“Worth a Trek to Sierra Madre”
Reviewed October 26, 2012

The Only Place in Town is a homey brunch spot way out in Sierra Madre. If you live in LA like I d, this is very far to drive for breakfast, especially since there are at least a couple places to eat in the city proper. That said, this place is really great and kind of worth the drive. Really good brunch specials served on weekends (which include awesome Huevos Rancheros) served with a free Mimosa.

If you happen to be out in Sierra Madre, check the place out. And even if you're not out there, the drive won't take you THAT long. Very good place.

“Nice casual outdoor dining”
Reviewed September 15, 2012 via mobile

Had breakfast here. Enjoyed the sidewalk dining more than the food. Had the breakfast enchiladas, and they were tasty and filling. Their homemade ranchero sauce was very chunky, which my companion loved, but triggered my over-sensitive gag reflex a bit, so if you're sensitive to that, be forewarned that its not a tomato juice based sauce the way it is in most Mexican places that I'm used to. My companion was warned by the waitress that the regular pancakes were merely Krusteaz, and encouraged her to have the whole wheat pancakes with bananas and pecans instead. She had them leave off the bananas, and found them very dry. Service was plenty attentive - I could've drank a gallon of coffee had I had a refill every time it was offered.

“Prices to high for what it is”
Reviewed August 5, 2012

this owner thinks you don't notice his $13 caesar. he's wrong. its a local trap that sierra madre'ans use for a quick meal, but not a place they call "the best". too bad. when you take advantage of people, they do actually notice. i hope the new T Boyles wakes him up.

“Been here forever”
Reviewed July 30, 2012

Other restaurants come and go, but this one stays on. No longer really the only place in town--but has stood the test of time. Good food and friendly. Especially good for breakfast and lunch.
