We stayed at the Yuba River Inn the 3rd week of September that is a really good time of year to go if you like hiking. The weather went up to a high of mid 70's and there were very few bugs. The YRI is a great place to stay if you are looking for a rustic cabin-type of place to stay but with all the amenities of home. If you are looking for a hotel-type experience with daily maid and room service, this isn't for you. We stayed in the Spruce cabin which looks exactly like the pictures on the website. All the appliances worked well and had great water pressure and heated up quickly (terrific for the shower!). My only caveat is with the beds. They are extremely firm and if you have any sort of back problems I'd suggest bringing a camping pad or some kind of extra padding to put on top of the mattress.
I would give the Yuba River Inn 4 stars, but I'm giving it 5 for the following reason. When we arrived home, I discovered I had forgotten 2 of my favorite visors hanging on the back of the cabin door. When I called Rick to see about the possibility of having them sent to me, he said OK and promptly sent them to me!More
