On our way to Death Valley National Park, we drove through the village of Shoshone. It was lunch time so we stepped into the Crowbar Cafe and Saloon. WOW! As we walked in the waitress was serving a customer the most amazing slice of apple pie with vanilla ice cream, we were sold! The menu offers something for everyone. Appetizers, salads, and hot dishes. We dined on Chef's Salad, enough for three people, fresh roast turkey sandwich on sour dough bread, burger smothered in rattlesnake chili (house special) and the best homemade fries! Fresh brewed ice tea. Oh, and apple pie, fresh, warm and to die for! All we needed was a hammock to rest a while. If you are in Vegas, it's worth the drive! Heck if you're within 100 miles, go!

Dropped in for a mid-afternoon snack [the platter of nachos was enormous] to find a really lively, well run little place with a lively mix of locals and tourists. The owners were anxious to please and very attentive to their customers

I get a hoot out of the rankings...Number one in Shoshone. Hell..it''s the ONLY. hahahaha...but, if it weren't the only one, it should still be #1. It's American road food at it's best. The usual suspects, nothing OMG this is so outrageous...but I will say that if you have any reason at all to be looking for a lunch or dinner, don't hesitate. And..on a hot day, the cold beer is killer.

Two large groups overwhelmed the kitchen. It took over two hours for our orders. So be prepared to wait. Of course the service is wonderful and quirky. While waiting, we walked around and enjoyed the small museum's outside displays. The food was good. I recommend the burgers and fries if the place is crowded.

We loved the food and ambience here. This is not just an out-of-the-way place that serves boring food. The owners have traveled all over the world and know what good food is. I had the trout dinner and my friends had the fajita dinner, and we enjoyed it. We also had wonderful breakfasts here.
