“Very pleasing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2013

The food, the service and the feel of the environment were all quite wonderful. All of us were pleased with our experience. Each dish was quite flavorful and distinct. I had heard great things about this place and am wondering what took us so long to get there! We will be back!

“Skip It”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2013

Well, I really wanted to like this place. The menu seemed varied and interesting, I really like Sebastopol's vibe in general and I was meeting good friends for dinner.

Sadly, the food was not very good; mediocre at best. And I didn't get the sense that it would/could change since it was waiting line out the door. Perhaps that accounts for the hastiness of the preparation and cooking.

Our table had some vegetable Pakoras to start and a theme began to be established that was to be repeated throughout the meal: under seasoning and little depth of flavor.

The pakoras themselves were bland and the tamarind sauce tasted watered down. The Garlic Naan had little garlic and hardly any butter to favor it.

I had high hopes for the "Organic Pumpkin Lamb Masala" and the sauce was creamy but the lamb was overcooked and hard, as if it had been in the sauce all day and perhaps the previous night. Brown rice was lukewarm in a cold bowl.

The Tandoori Lamb chunks were huge but the accompanying peppers and onions were charred and smoke was their only flavor. Chicken Breast Tandoori the same.

I could go on but you get the picture. Service was so attentive and kind, I only wish the food was of the same standard. Perhaps this is the only Indian(Nepalese) restaurant in the immediate area (?) but I would drive to Santa Rosa or Marin for a far better "food" experience.

“Worth a trip to Sebastopol!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 2, 2012

Wow! These people can cook the most wonderful North Indian dishes to perfection. The spices and flavors hit your nose the moment you enter. My wife and I like spicy food, and we asked for the dishes "hot". They were perfect. Not so spicy that you can not enjoy the taste, but full of
delicious flavors. The home-made pickles were special, and the nan was outstanding.
Friendly staff makes the experience really great.
