We stayed here for one night to break up the trip between LA and San Francisco.
It was a typical Embassy Suites with a nice cocktail reception and free breakfast which please everyone, especially my 12 year old daughter.
While not the most glamourous of hotels, our room was spacious, clean and met all of our needs nicely. Having a pool was a major plus.
The breakfast buffet was the normal fare of hot and cold foods etc. Not spectacular, but nothing horrible either.
The staff was very friendly when we checked in and out and the bar tender during the cocktail reception was especially nice explaining the history of the local beer to us.
The only disappointment was the location. Although easy to find from the highway, I was hoping to be closer to the water and in a more picturesque spot - we were next to a strip mall.
Since we were only passing through, we didn't have time to take advantage of everything that Monterey has to offer. If we ever go back, I would stay at the Embassy Suites again.
