We stayed 2 nights as part of a virgin holiday. The hotel is being refurbished but this was only part of the problem. The water was off when we got back one afternoon so we couldn't take showers, the shower was cold one morning, the air con dripped, the wifi was intermittent. It is a very large soulless corporate hotel. Breakfast was chaos because of the refurbishment. It is a real blot on the landscape and located well out of Monterey so had to drive into town. Out of place in Monterey. One star is for the staff- service was as per high USA standards.

I love this hotel! If I could I would literally move in! Everyone that works there is amazing. Not just sometimes. All the time. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone!! Love the evening reception they have. Snacks are tasty!! Hopefully I'll be back very soon!!!!!

Hotel is undergoing major renovations but no excuse for the hotel to be so dirty. Pool deck was covered in standing water that had gone green - a slipping hazard. The pool filters had green mold on them and the water was not clear. The breakfast buffet area was disgusting with food on the floor, tables uncleared and generally a disorganized mess. Management of this location is clearly well below standards. Hotel was charging full price but most of the amenities were lacking.

The hotel was under construction even though it was suppose to be done at the beginning of the month. No notification was given until 2 hours before our arrival. The hotel room was extremely hot and could. It be fixed. We had no internet service because the hotel was busy and the system was overloaded.

The hotel is undergoing major reconstruction and as other reviews have stated, the breakfast buffet and evening happy hour are in makeshift banquet rooms and totally disorganized. The breakfast room was disgusting - the tables were dirty and not cleared. The happy hour room was about as inviting as a school cafeteria. The worst part was the hotel is charging full rates yet is not providing full service. Overall really let down by Embassy Suites.
