If you are a local and haven't tried the Breakfast Club for breakfast or lunch it's definitely your best choice in Seaside for American classic food. If you are a tourist, skip it. The strip mall location and interior ambiance are not something I'd choose for a special or even regular meal while on a vacation. Much better to vacation brunch and munch at First Awakenings near Cannery Row or one of a dozen quaint and quality restaurants in Carmel or best of all Jeffrey's at mid-Carmel Valley. The food is consistently good but not spectacular. They'd never make the cut on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. The portions are huge, which I'd gladly sacrifice for better quality and less quantity. Unfortunately the Breakfast Club buys into the mythos that bigger is better...eat here regularly and the only thing bigger will be your waistline and rear. This restaurant is a poster child for larger than necessary portions and fattening of America. It won't change but a perfect solution is to share one breakfast platter with your companion. The days of the "clean your plate club" are long gone. The main reason for repeat visits is that the staff is truly exceptionally friendly from the bus persons to the free spirit attired waitresses who make up in enthusiasm what they lack in professionalism. I'll choose a server with a great attitude over one who is more polished in service standards. Family owned and operated with attention to detail and cleanliness. All in all an excellent restaurant for what it is...a mid level family friendly cut above average food in a plain jane location.

We've been going to The Breakfast Club in Seaside for 20 years or so, and we can honestly say the huge portions of delectable, well-prepared breakfasts and lunches have never shrunk -- with favorites like Florentine Eggs Benedict, Mixed Fruit bran cakes, French Toast, omellots of all descriptions, the breakfast burrito and many more maintaining their quality all these years. Even the side dishes, like extra crispy bacon, potato salad or an assortment of fruit instead of fries are done to perfection. The only complaint you'll hear from the locals is on "big event" weekends, when you may have to wait awhile outside before being seated. For breakfast and lunch only (they close at 2:00 p.m.).

My wife and I enjoyed breakfast here in this stylistic restaurant. Portions were large and the food tasted great. There was a Mexican tilt to the menu, as you might expect in California today, but there was enough Yankee food to keep me happy - French toast, scrambled eggs, etc. Come with a big appetite and eat late so you can skip lunch.

As stated, this was our second visit. We travel to Monterey once a year for goolf with a group of friends and this was the only place that the group insisted on visiting again. Dont let the strip mall location put you off. This place is a must.

Stumbled upon this place by coincidence on a sunday morning after walking away from the bad breakfast in our hotel. Place was packed FOR A REASON. Had an amazing breakfast burrito that blew my mind. Coming from Europe I thought they had really big portions! I would come here again!
