“Great golf course”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

We booked a great deal on Golfnow.com and additionally they'd aerated the course so we were given coupons for another round of golf within the year. That aside this is a great golf course. It is challenging with many bunkers and quick greens. This course was the 2012 PGA National Championship which speaks to the toughness of the course. Play it, you'll love it.

They have the best food if your hungry and looking for a place to eat. I'v never played golf here but the course looks beautiful. The staff is wonderful and very inviting. I also got married here in 2012.

“You have to be pretty good on this course”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

The wind is blowing and the mist is rising and in the distance is the Pacific Ocean. Great course fortunately no water other than the view from nearly every hole of the Pacific. But there are plenty ob bunkers and they are very unforgiving. Very well looked after from the course to the club house, with friendly and helpful staff. Great value and excellent quality rentals.

“Bayonet Golf Course”
Reviewed April 14, 2013

This is the first time I have played Bayonet since it was remodeled a few years ago. We really enjoyed the course and the renovations they made. The tee boxes and fairways were in great shape. The greens were also in good shape, but were aerated two weeks ago, so were slower than normal. If not for that I would have rated the course as Excellent. My brother joined me for this round and it was his first time playing here. He was very impressed other than the slow greens.

This course has a little bit of everything other than water. Beautiful trees, very green fairways, elevation changes, straight holes, doglegs right and left, very long holes and a couple relatively short holes. Had some views of the ocean from a couple higher elevation holes as well as wind off the ocean. The pace of play was also very good and our twosome finished in under four hours.

I have a 10 index and found this to be a challenging, but very enjoyable course to play. Would definitely play it again.

“A great under rated golf course”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

With recent renovations this is a wonderful, reasonably priced course. We played the blue tees at 6500 yards and a slope of 136. The course, fairways/greens/tee-boxes/bunkers, was in excellent shape. The greens are very fast and heavily contoured - there are few if any flat spots and are not easy if your course management is not perfect. It is located on Monterey Bay and has great views. The 565 yard 18th is a great finishing hole and the green has two big ridges to deal with. The dining area offers a nice ambiance, good selections and a pleasant staff.

We played on a Saturday and the pace of play was very good as we finished the round in 4.3 hours, much of the slowness due to our own foibles.
