“Another great stay at the Seaside Inn”
Reviewed July 5, 2013

This is our fifth stay at Seaside Inn. We come several times a year to visit our son. We are so glad we found this motel. We enjoy being welcomed like family by the onsite manager, Menka. The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable. It is a good value for the area. On our next stay we look forward to visiting the new breakfast station that is almost completed. Vickie R. wI recently went to Monterey/Seaside area for a ladies get away trip. I am so happy that we chose Seaside Inn for our trip. The staff was pleasant and very helpful with points of interest. Location was great close to shopping and beaches. We were very pleased with our room, very clean, nice furnishings and the beds were very comfy. The only downfall was the construction going on while we were there, but totally understandable for need of expansion. Next time I go to the Monterey area i will definitely make my reservations at Seaside Inn.

After getting close to 14 hours of travel and even longer with no sleep by the time we arrived at the Seaside Inn we literally just wanted something that resembled a bed to snatch some z's. Check in was fine, not overly friendly but like I said we just wanted to be in our rooms already. Got into the room and WOW. Lovely and spacious with a table, 2 chairs, huge bathroom, shower/ bath and sink. And then we sat on the bed... Feels like memory foam and the pillows are like marshmallows, such a comfy and soft bed, we couldn't have wished for more after such a stint of travel! The wifi is good and fast considering we are in the room furthest away from the office, but closest to the road, traffic noise is small, and there is a little private outdoor seating area behind the room. We paid 127$ incl tax for 2 nights with a double bed. Comes with parking and they offer a breakfast of coffee and pre-packed pastries, not very imaginative and no milk for the coffee but it does the job when we weren't expected breakfast to be included! 5 minute drive from loads of places to eat, 10 minutes to the nearest Walmart, easy to find and 10-15 mins to the beautiful pacific grove. Excellent budget choice.

At check-in was told there was construction that would end at 5 pm. We were not told it would be constant from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm the entire three days we were there. I could have handled the hammering and even a little sawing, but a jack hammer right outside the window, the entire time? It not only shook the building continually, but was so loud that even on the highest volume, the tv could not be heard.
When I spoke with management upon leaving, no apology or compensation was suggested. I had come there to work on projects, while my daughter was looking for employment in the area. So, I was stuck in the hotel room for hours on end, not being able to concentrate on my work.
Probably the one thing that really irritated me, was she asked me to put a positive review on the website, but if there was anything negative, not to put it on at all. This is a very biased way of asking customers to leave only positive comments. I wonder how many others have not left negative comments, so as not to offend the management???

Room Tip: Busy streets, even at night. Refrigerator in room was very noisy.

I recently stayed in Monterey/Seaside area 3 nights. I chose 3 different hotels all in the same price range every night and this one was by far the most comfortable. Quiet and well furnished. Nice hotel for the money for sure!

Comfortable, clean, free wifi, parking, convenient location, friendly staff. It's very basic and no frills but good value for the money. The continental breakfast was not really edible (it's like the worst kind of prepackaged junk--like those croissants that never expire and taste like chemicals) and they didn't even have real milk/cream for the coffee (just that gross powdered stuff) but I didn't really care about that. There are good places nearby. Definitely a solid budget option.

We had a queen ,non smoking room overlooking the street and backing onto Panda Express ...and it was a great overnight stay.On arrival we were a little put off by the commercial location but we had pre paid though priceline. However the outside is well cared for, nicely painted with neat gardens and flowers.
The room was very spacious, with a lovely new bathroom, new carpets and mattress. We slept great, the Internet was fast and the TV was modern .The proximity to shoos and restaurants was handy.
Staff were very helpful. We asked for another pillow and was given a nice new fluffy one which was an improvement on the flat ones in the room.Im told that they are getting new ,better quality pillows and towels soon. Fresh coffee and lovely Costco muffins were served at breakfast.
I would definitely recommend this place.
