Always stop by for a bite when visiting Seal Beach. The huge chips are unique, the salsa is good and the food is delicious.

Really good ceviche, surfer special is good too and the chile relleno. Great service and the price is right. Across the street from the Seal Beach Pier.

This is a very favorite neighborhood joint, in all the good senses of the word. While the word is out to the locals, who line up at the take-out window, maybe the less adventurous, who might be put off by the no-frills setting inside, need to know that this is good Mexican food, like someone's grandma would make. Our very favorite is anything al pastor, which is pork slow-roasted with such amazing depth of flavor, not too hot, but so, so flavorful. We order "tacos suaves al pastor", meaning soft tacos with that pastor filling, so, so, so, so good. A more hearty and filling plate is the tostada al pastor, or when you're really hungry, and don't want to bother with the green stuff (iceberg lettuce), the burrito al pastor will hold you 'til the next day, easy!

We've become so predictable, that we're sometimes asked, "The usual?" -- but what do they means? Yeah, for us it's always al pastor, but we might just change it up it bit from one visit to the next -- and that's never, ever, ever more than 4 days from the last one!

El Burrito Jr. is a little Mexican place right across the street from the beach. You can either go in and be seated, or use the walk-up window, which what we have always done. This is a great option for cheap and yummy food while in the area. While at the beach, my kids (1 a ravenous teen) were hungry so I gave them a five dollar bill and told them to see what they could find. They came back with 2 large bean and cheese burritos, tortilla chips, and a soda - all for $5 (including tax). Good stuff!
