“Great spot on Main Street, Seal Beach”
Reviewed September 13, 2011

The Abbey is now under new managementment and with their updated menu and lots of new selections, a good stop. One of the best is their hamburgers fire grilled and high enough to come with a steak knife. Pizzas, salads and changing beers on tap add to the ever growing popularity of this renewed restaurant making it a great choice for dining or just dropping in for a beer, glass of wine and local flavor.

“We love bartender Dave!”
Reviewed October 6, 2009

The Abbey is a great local hang out on Seal Beach mainstreet. It's wood fire oven makes it warm and cozy in the winter, and it's casual, beachy atmosphere make it perfect in the summer! the belgian beer on tap is a winner and the food is well above average. We love the white label Chimay on tap, with a wood fired pizza, seared ahi sandwhich, or asian rice bowl. The crowd is friendly, and will get to know your name after only a trip or two. "Bartender Dave" is entertaining and has your favorite beer poured before your lips get dry! All in all, a winner!

“Great Pub in Fun Town”
Reviewed January 9, 2009

The Abbey is located 3 blocks from the beach just off Pacific Coast Highway. The food and service are generally outstanding. They have a great selection of Belgian beers with at least 4 on tap at all times. The salads, pasta dishes and burgers are particularly good. Unlike some other bars in town the crowd is friendly and the atmosphere comfortable.

“A fine casual spot”
Reviewed July 13, 2007

This beer and wine only pizza pub is in the heart of SB on Main St. With large salads, a variety of interesting pizzas and varied main course entrees, this is a fine place to stop for a bite. Quite popular, and often busy, there is a long bar to sit at, or tables. Prices are reasonable - pizza's big enough to share are about $10. The house salad is a good mixed leaf plate, large, and a good value. The 'road kill nachos' are questionable - essentially bagged tortilla chips with pretty much everything tossed over it - without much flavour. The wine glasses are filled high by the glass, although the wine selection is not high end. To make this a better place, a little more effort on the decor and wine selections would be needed. Service was above average.
