We stopped here for dinner driving home from Northern California. We picked Mollie's because we didn't want fast food. I would have preferred the fast food! The whole place needs renovations. Old and dirty. You can see it once had charm but now just needs help. The staff was ok. The food was nearly inedible. Our group had fish and chips, prime rib, open faced turkey and kids entrees of Mac n cheese and a corndog. The only appealing thinga eaten in whole were sides of mashed potatoes (actually quite delicious) and turkey was passable. The turkey looked like it came from a package and was heated up in the microwave. The prime rib was awful and the provided knife hardly cut through it - it looked and tasted old and only half was eaten. The fish n chips was clearly at one point frozen and just re fried and the breading was burnt. The corn dog was fine. The Mac n cheese was cheap add milk or water and heat in the microwave and overcooked. Half was inedible as it was hardened together. If we had not been in a hurry we would have definitely refused the food and eaten elsewhere. I have never had to write such a poor review ever. This place looks like it could be really nice but needs serious help and real food!!

This trip we stayed in Scott's Valley while visiting Monterey for the Pebble Beach Concours and started our each day with a great breakfast at Mollies Country Cafe. It is conveniently located right around the corner from the Hilton and was easily accessible to the highway. I can't say enough about this place. From the moment we walked in, we felt like "locals" in a small town diner. Friendly service, bottomless cups of coffee and excellent food. Our eggs were always cooked to perfection, my husband loved the biscuits and I adored the homemade potatoes. Crispy edges and very ample portion. It was a great way to start our day and were sad that we don't have a place like this near our home in Colorado. Bring cash (no credit cards here) and if you have time check out the little florist/gift shop next door to the restaurant. They are open for lunch and dinner too but we only had breakfast there. Bet they make an awesome cheeseburger!

Great stop off. Seems to be a local favorite. Good food and lots of it. Freash toast was good, but my wife loved the grits.

This is our go-to place to stop for breakfast, brunch, or lunch on our way to visit the giant redwood trees in Big Basin State Park. It's a diner and they have a low cost ($11-$12) breakfast/lunch buffet on weekends. Breakfast is great. The pancakes and French toast are always great. Service is friendly as well. I've found the buffet problematic. The food just isn't as fresh, as you'd expect with it sitting out in the buffet. But there certainly is a large assortment.

This is a small place, so there's frequently a waiting line. Your timing needs to be good. Also, be aware that Mollies is a cash business. No Visa, Amex, MasterCard, etc.

Consistently quality food. Meat is lean and trimmed. Love the burgers - served the way a burger should be - tasty and on a good bun. No checks or credit cards, but an ATM is available if you forget. This keeps prices reasonable and does not deter the regulars who keep coming back for great food.
