This boutique hotel has modestly sized rooms that are beautifully decorated with custom furniture, faux painted walls with coordinating accessories, high ceilings, and large windows with gorgeous views. Our room (queen with park view #211) was bright, sunny, extremely comfortable, and very quiet. The gorgeous bathroom has a spacious walk-in shower, and lovely designer toiletries. Parking ($10 a day) is right across the street, and the bay is just to the right of the front door. The owner, Billy, is a personable Scotsman with a delightful sense of humor. My husband and I would come back here in a New York minute!

Found a real delight. Had a glorious time in the attractive and charming Hotel Sausalito. The colors are warm, inviting and relaxing, the décor most appealing. The rooms are exquisitely decorated and speak of luxury and class. The beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms attractively designed. The location is ideal, with fabulous city and water views and convenient access to all Sausalito has to offer. The staff was kind and helpful. The complementary bottled waters and juicy red apples were an extra treat. A coffee and pastry on top of it all – well, it’s just such a find - and a bargain besides.! I felt like a house guest – a very fortunate one. I happily anticipate returning.

My sisters and I (from Georgia) stayed at the Hotel Sausalito June 1 & 2 and again on June 8. We changed our plans at the end so we could return to the Hotel Sausalito. It was very European in feel, the owner, Billy, was a funny, perceptive Scotch Gentleman who made our stay so very pleasurable. Everyone went out of their way to make our stay memorable. Our room was great! I advise anyone headed to the San Franciso area to check out the Hotel Sausalito. You will not be disappointed.

My sisters and I stayed at Hotel Sausalito June 1 and 2 and had a wonderful stay. Billy, Mike and the rest of the staff were just wonderful to us. They really treated us Georgia girls wonderfully. We rearranged our trip so that we could come back and stay our last night there and we felt like we had come home. If I ever go back to Sausalito, I will definitely stay at Hotel Sausalito. A great place to stay and a great staff of people. Thanks so very much for a wonderful stay.

My sisters and I take a trip every year together and our visit to Hotel Sausalito was the most memorable. We stayed in the hotel two nights and then checked out to finish our trip. We were soooo homesick for Sausalito and the Hotel we re-did our trip so we could go back and it was the perfect finish to our trip. We loved Billy, Mike, Linda, and Joseph and all the staff. They were
absolutely terrific. We loved the beautiful hotel and the rooms were awesome along with the service. The convenience of the Cafe Tutti right next door for coffee and pastries each morning, complimentary with our visit was awesome and the perfect start to each and every day. The Farmers Market every Friday was fantastic, we picked up rottiserie chicken and bunches of tulips for our room and loved the availability. Everything about the Hotel was GREAT!!! We loved the little outdoor patio to enjoy the morning and evenings and the fresh fruit and water readily available. Our suite, Room 201 was absolutely perfect with its view and the windows we could open to hear the sounds of the city were awesome. We had a great view of the city and feel in love with Sausalito. The huge shower was awesome as were the beds and linens. I can't say enough good things about the Hotel Sausalito. You just have to experience it for yourself. We will definitely go back-----watch out, Billy and Mike, here we come again!!!!!!! AWESOME

Seconds from the SF ferry and minutes from the Golden Gate, this 1915 European style hotel is perfect for anyone wanting to visit SF, without having to stay in the city.
The rooms are modestly sized and decorated (liked the small LCD TV tucked away in the dresser), but comfortable and surprisingly quiet.
For breakfast one has to step out to the cafe next door, but considering the larger selection of coffee and pastries, this is not neccesarily a problem.
There is a substantial selection of restaurants within a short walking distance for any palate and wallet (some would require a "large" wallet though).
The hotel is operated but a very pleasant Scot with a sense of humour that is not always what you'd expect - a refreshing change from the plastic "I'm great - how're you ?" seen at most US establishments.
Next time we're in the area, Hotel Sausalito is definitely an option.

We stayed here one night in April 2007 and liked it so much we came back a couple of weeks later. The hotel is well situated in pretty Sausalito, close to the sea. We had a very nice room -clean , well equiped and spacious. All of the decor is attractive. Although there is no restuarant in the hotel there are plenty close by so this is no problem. The hotel is run by a genial scotsman who was very helpful and friendly. No really bad points although its fairly expensive but then so are all of the hotels around.
