“Comfortable stay. Great location.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2012

On our trip to San Francisco and Napa Valley, we had already spent 3 nights in SF and decided to spent our last night in Sausalito, when coming back from Napa. This way we could enjoy the evening in town, instead of taking a quick ferry ride from SF.

Great choice! Sausalito is a lovely town and we enjoyed having drinks at sunset and dinner later.

Casa Madrona was my first choice for its location, pictures and reviews. Very comfortable bedroom, bed, linen and bathroom. Usually I don´t even try hotel´s shampoos and conditioners, but theirs are very good quality.
Nice staff too.

They don´t have a parking lot and charge $24 for parking at the public parking accross the street. You can do it yourself and save $.

We had the Bed and Breakfast Package with the Deluxe Harbour View Room. Room is a little disappointing, as it looks bigger on the pictures. The red canape couch that appears on the hotel´s pictures doesn´t exist. I chose that room, instead of the Hillside rooms in the new building, because reviewers said they were too noisy.

We received a voucher for the breakfast at Poggio. Only 2 options to choose from. It would be better if we had free choice at a certain value. We ended up choosing from the menu and paying extra.

Expensive place, but I guess, everything was very expensive on that last week of September in the region.

There is a spa on site, but we didn´t get to use it.

Room Tip: Our room in the old building was quite enough, although very close to the street.

We are delighted that you enjoyed your recent stay with us and wish to thank you for your comments. Please let us know if you would like more information on our bath amenities. They are wonderful organic products, produced in small batches right here in Northern California.

Here's to many happy returns!

I recently spent 3 nights at Casa Madrona with my girlfriend and had a wonderful time. The room we stayed in was very large, well decorated and had breathtaking views of the water. Seeing San Francisco lit up at night from our room was unbelievable. The staff was extremely helpful and always tried to go the extra mile for us. Additionally, the location of the hotel in Sausalito could not have been better.

I knew there was some construction going on and didn't know what to expect but it was hardly noticeable throughout our stay as the construction area is completely separate from where the rooms are located. The construction project looks amazing and I can't wait to return and stay in the new rooms once construction is complete.

I've stayed in many nice hotels and overall this is one of the best experiences I've ever had. Wonderful place to stay and highly recommended.

Thank you for your kind words. We truly appreciate the time you took to communicate your praise to us and share it with the online community. Our efforts are made worthwhile when we hear such positive feedback from those who matter the most -- guests such as yourself.

We are looking forward to welcoming you back...perhaps for a visit to one of our new state-of-the-art suites in the Victorian Mansion we will be unveiling in summer 2013?

Casa Madrona proved to be a wonderful option for our first trip to San Francisco. The hotel was located in the center of scenic Sausalito, walking distance from many great local restaurants and shops. My boyfriend and I stayed in a private room that was tastefully furnished, with a great view of the bay and a beautiful skyline. While parts of the property are currently undergoing renovation, we never found the construction to be intrusive in any way, and were able to take full advantage of a quiet and peaceful environment during the entire duration of our stay. In addition, the hotel staff was very sensitive to our needs, making us feel at home right away and going above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable.

We're very much looking forward to a second trip to SanFran in the near future and without a doubt, plan to stay at Casa Madrona again.

We stayed for two nights in a Harbor View room and was not at all disappointed. Staff service was excellent, valet parking prompt and location was very convenient. I felt like a local sitting on the balcony watching the visitor buses pass by and ferries arriving and leaving.

At night the whole complexion changes with less pedestrians and the sound of glasses tickling and people chattering as food is served in the many restaurants in the area.

My only suggestion and this is not a hotel issue is for better lighting / notification around pedestrian crossings as on a number of occasions we had to avoid contact with motor vehicles whilst using the crossings at night.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for the view/ balcony if you don't mind just relaxing with a glass of wine from Na...

We had a quick get-a-way for our anniversary, and purchase a vouchet thru travel zoo. Our experience at Casa Madrona was wonderful! From valet to front desk to bellman (Curtis) who came to set up a DVD player for us. We were informed by valet that the hotel charges $24/nt for parking and we opted to park in the metered parking across the street (only metered from 9am-6pm). Room was a little small, but amazing bathroom and balcony overlooking the marina. Dinner at Scoma's was also beyond our expectation and crab roll at Fish is a must!!

Perfect location in town. Lovely views of the water. Great rooms, nice bathrooms. But what distinguishes this place is the friendly staff, from the lads who greet you curbside to the engineer who shows you how to lock the deck (if you're a moron like me). Wendy at the front desk booked our dinner, recommended a great wine shop and was super friendly with our little guy, even giving him a little toy sea lion. We can't wait to come back.

We stayed at Casa Madrona after a fantastic sailing trip on the bay. The hotel was absolutely lovely. Beautfiul views of the water from our room and balcony. Weather was perfect, too! Beds are awesome and the bathroom was huge! Great staff...very friendly and accommodating. Only downside in that section of the hotel is a fair amount of street and restaurant noise during the late night and early morning. That said, well worth that inconvenience for the beautiful view.
