We loved our stay in the Contemporary area of the hotel. Our room was like a townhouse - living area downstairs and bedroom/bath upstairs. We didn't have a view of the water, but that was ok with us. Huge tub and separate huge shower. Bed was very comfortable - staff was very helpful and friendly. Wifi worked great! A little pricey but worth the splurge!

We have been going here for years on our anniversary. I can say that the remodel was amazing. The room was very nice and had a great view of the Bay. The spa was absolutely spotless and very relaxing. Location is ideal...close to downtown shopping and walking distance to Sushi Ran.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the Bay...

Sadly, I had to leave to catch a flight at 3:00 a.m., so only had half a day to enjoy this hotel. The staff were amazing, the room was very large (giant bathroom!), with a great view and a very comfy bed. The spa was closed by the time I checked in, but I'm sure it was great too.

The location is also amazing. On a cute strip of shops, restaurants, cafes and right across from the water. Very happening place (and I was there on a Sunday night). Short drive to GG Bridge (maybe 5 minutes).

Definitely will stay here again and hopefully get to enjoy more of the hotel.

Room Tip: They have rooms that face the courtyard (which was also nice...fountains etc.) and rooms that face t...

First time I stayed here was with my wife right after our wedding 6 years ago. This year I decided to reminisce and booked a room here this past weekend. The reason I am giving this review 4 stars is because of the sentimental value to me and because the service was pretty good. Otherwise it probably would be a 3. I think that for what you get at the hotel it is way overpriced. You can get a much nicer stay in San Francisco hotel for the same price or less. I really disliked that they did not inform me about the $25 overnight parking fee until our checkout in the morning. It's a sneaky way to do that and I would have liked to know that in advance. But overall we liked our room and they let us checkout an hour after the official checkout time. There are 2 great things about this hotel: 1) Location and 2) Bathtubs. We loved walking to dinner and breakfast. There are some great places to hang out at in the area! And the rooms have both a deep bathtub and a separate shower. If you are looking for a place to stay in Saualito, Casa Madrona is probably your only option. And they seem to know that :)

There couldn't be a better place to stay in the SF area than the Casa Madrona. The rooms are spacious, quietly elegant and comfortable; the facilities are well maintained and the location--on the Sausalito waterfront, a two minute walk to the SF ferry; surrounded by a variety of shops and restaurants--is just perfect. I'd highly recommend the Casa Madrona.

Firstly, Sausalito is stunning. Secondly, there is no better place to stay than Casa Madrona. Our first experience with the CM Staff was our valet/bellman/concierge/mr. everything, David. I think he quite possibly provided us with the best service we've ever experienced. He was helpful, kind, efficient and HILARIOUS! I seriously cannot say enough about how first impressions of a place reside on the shoulders of the first person a customer interacts with when arriving. David was the best person for a great first impression. The desk associates were just as helpful and always had the right information for us. Then there was the room! Gorgeous views, huge bathroom, shower and tub and the bed was tremendously comfortable. They offer several kinds of pillows for your use, have a detailed hotel/local services book and offer terrific spa services. I would sincerely recommend Casa Madrona to anyone staying in the Sausalito/Marin County area!

Room Tip: Spa is on the 3rd Floor.

Beautifully appointed, recently renovated Casa Madrona was our "home" for 3 nights. It is perfectly situated, great views, enormous well lit bathroom, comfy beds, luscious pillows, within walking distance to shops-park-restaurants. We loved Wendy and Simon who were gracious and attentive to us as well as all the other guests. Valet was speedy and polite. We didn't hear a peep, and did not care that there were no HD channels on TV. With all that natural beauty right outside our door, TV was not an issue. Great place to come home to after quick trip to Muir Woods, Sonoma, and all the SF sights. We did use the fitness center, bikes and weights. After all we ate, we needed it! Loved our visit!
