“Delicious food”

We went to Sausalito by hop on hop off bus, not using ferry from Ferry Building in SF financial district. We saw this white and grey color restaurant when we explored the town. Scoma is a waterfront restaurant. Good service, fresh seafood, nice and relax ambience, not a cheap bite but worth to try.

“Picture perfect, food not so good”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 9, 2014

This restaurant looks fantastic and the staff are helpful and attentive. But the tables are crammed together and the service is fast, as in - get in and out so others can have your table and the restaurant can earn more money. I started with a crab which was very obviously not fresh (I grew up in Australia eating an abundance of fresh sea food caught by my father a few hours before we ate it, so I can tell "fresh". This crab was at least a day old.) The rest of the meal was fine but not special. In Europe we don't rush people through a good meal in a good restaurant.

“Excellent food, great service and the tour guide was correct best seafood !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2014

The tour guide said that the best seafood restaurant in the Bay area was at Scoma's and she was right. The crab meat cocktail was delicious. The Shrimp cocktail was outstanding. I enjoyed the lobster ravioli. The bread was even delicious. The service was very good. What a delightful
meal. When in the Bay area you must eat at Scoma's for delicious seafood.

“Pick a different location if you can.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2013

We were disappointed with Scomas on both the food side and the service side. The food was over salted with little flavor except for the salt, the portions were small, the service was very slow, and the prices were high. The calamari was over cooked, rubbery, the chowder has too much corn starch or thickeners added to it, and the fish was also overcooked, not flaky, but dry. The location is lovely, but perhaps because of the crowds the servers were just not that friendly. We were a party of six, 4 adults, two kids, and frankly wished we had picked somewhere else.
