Great spot for those interested in the San Francisco Bay Area's geography and the history of Sausalito. As my office is 1/4 mile away, I'll often take out of town visitors there while on a lunchtime walk.
It's a bit old fashioned, but nonetheless interesting. What is remarkable is a small exhibit on the history of the creation and building of the Marin Shipyards during World War II, and how in a very short time ground was assembled, railroad tracks laid, buildings and shipyards created, and a huge number of Liberty Ships created to support the war effort.
If the current Sausalito town government was in charge back in the 1940s we could have lost the War, as it takes months to do a simple alteration in an office....... Clearly what was done would have taken decades, so here we also have an a example of what can be done quickly if and when the need arises.
