We ate lunch at Le Garage at the recommendation of friends, and we were not disappointed. The setting is on the water's edge with boats scattered about in front of you. We started with a lovely glass of their house white and a glass of one of their specialty beers. The husband had a grilled ham and blue cheese sandwich topped with apples and walnut butter with crispy french fries and I had a bowl of squash and carrot soup and a bowl of mixed greens. Everything was extremely fresh and service was prompt and friendly!

**pay close attention to parking. There are signs everywhere warning of towing. Le Garage has it's own parking lot for your use, just look for the signs.

A short drive from the ferry, Le Garage sits right along the water in a warehouse-like area. We were warmly greeted by the staff and our server, a charming and friendly Frenchman. For starters, we shared a plate of cheeses and a plate of charcuterie, served with bread. For main courses, the grilled aged Angus ribeye was on of the best steaks ever, served with fries and the Sole Meuniere was delicate and buttery served with braised fennel. For wines, we enjoyed a white Meursault and a red Chateauneuf du Pape. Le Garage has an excellent by-the-glass and bottle wine menu. For desserts, the kaffir key lime pie, the fondant au chocolat and the vanilla creme brulee are all outstanding. The Petit Manseng Juracon dessert wine is also very tasty. A casual and lively crowd created a very fun evening!

We just loved this restaurant - We had booked on Friday night and enjoyed it so much we went back on Saturday as well. The setting is beautiful, and the food absolutely delicious - there were three of us and we pretty much tasted everything on the menu - particularly loved the Carrpacio - nothing could be faulted.

Great food and great atmosphere. This restaurant has a short menu and between five of us we sampled varied dishes on the menu - all were delicious!

Our favorite staff member at The Inn Above Tide, Rollin, recommended Le Garage for dinner our first evening visiting Sausalito. We had a bit of trouble finding it, as it is located off the beaten path, but we were so happy that we did.

The restaurant is set in a former garage, roll-up doors and all, with a minimalist decor and servers dressed like mechanics. The menu is not lengthy, but decisions were still hard to make. Our appetizers were outstanding--a cream less cream of cauliflower soup and a salad of bacon-wrapped grilled figs, fresh plums, greens and pistachios. Yum, yum, yum. These were followed by an amazing duck confit served with farro risotto and a lovely scallop special. While we had decided that we couldn't possibly eat dessert, we succumbed to a flour less chocolate cake with a melting caramel center.

Service was first rate. The only down side was the noise level, related mostly to the size of the restaurant and the many hard surfaces which reflect the happy talk filling the room. But that would never keep me from returning!
