The location of The Inn Above Tide is phenomenal. Each room has a view of the San Francisco Bay and binoculars with which to enjoy it. Our fireplace and bed were so great we hated to get up and out but hey, the ferry stop is right next door and so off we went to the city. By the way, it can be much warmer in Sausalito than San Francisco so do believe the weather forecasters. Sausalito is a delightful little town and a wonderful jumping off point to Sonoma and Napa Valleys as well as the giant redwoods of Muir Woods, too. Location location location and a sweet tourist town, too.

My wife and I stayed there for our anniversary after having seen the hotel on a trip to San Francisco. Our room had a great patio over looking the bay, and no matter what time of day it was the bay was beautiful. the staff was friendly and helpful and always available, and provided great information on tours as well as all the best local restaurants. The breakfast was a wonderful surprise, as was the wine and cheese in the evening. If your looking for a truly relaxing experience with top notch service and attention to detail this is your spot. we have decided this will be our anniversary get away.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are great and have an unobstructed view of the bay, be sure to get a room with a pa...

This hotel did not disappoint. We were impressed from the moment we arrived. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was amazing and the view world class. Breakfast was an added bonus and was wonderfully presented. The location was great and we found it very easy to find. Getting into San Francisco was easy and quick - we used the ferry right next door to the hotel. We loved Sausalito and visited many of the local restaurants and bars. We would not hesitate in recommending and would without doubt stay here again on our next visit to California.

If you want to be outside the city & just over the Golden Gate bridge this is a lovely choice. It is pricey, but for your money you get a very nice room, with a nice continental breakfast, Internet, valet parking, free bikes, and a gorgeous view of the Bay Bridge and San Francisico skyline. You can walk about 250 feet and board the ferry, drive to down town in 20 minutes, and Sonoma in about an hour. There is a very good Mexican restaurant, Copita, (a block away).

Room Tip: Be sure to get one with a view of the bay...not sure if they all have the view.

Wife and I stayed here for my 40th birthday, and we had a room right on the water. The place is really beautiful, and the service is spectacular. They have a great happy hour with open wine and a good selection of cheese, they also valet your vehicle in a little courtyard. THe place is just undergoing a renovation/facelift so everything is brand new.

Sausalito is great for about a 24 hour period, then it gets a little boring. The night life is pretty dead after about 10:30, however, most people dont come here for that.

One word of caution - if you are here during the spring, do NOT leave your balcony door open at night - the fog horns go off constantly and are LOUD. We both lost a night of sleep due to this, but I dont at all blame the Inn for it - they cannot control the weather.

I would 100% come back here again, it did not disappoint.

Wow! Great location, stunning views, comfy suites and fabulous service. One of the very best times to go is the 4th of July! You can see fireworks from 3 places over the Bay! Now that pretty much say's it all. This place is usually booked up to a year in advance for this event but don't be afraid to go in the wait list. You may just get a call from the front desk a week or so before the 4th. This Inn is right next to water transportation so you can easily get back to SF if you want to go that way for the day or dinner. Ok...about the Inn. They really have a fab wine happy hour with snacks. AND a great thing to purchase and take home with you are the pillows and the pillow cases. They sell them there. You won't know what I'm talking about until you until you see and sleep on them. They are great. I have to fight my cat's every night to get them back. The breakfast in the AM that you can have sent to your suite is a super touch. My husband and I love this property. It is the perfect place for a week-end in Sausalito to relax, walk, shop and try some great eateries. Take the time to try this Inn, I think you will enjoy it.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask if you can see the Bay from your room selection

Outstanding sunrises, details surpassing more expensive properties, and location location location! The beds and linens are superb, everything is new and luxurious with oversized tubs for two. The deck and sunrises are breathtaking with city/alcatraz/bridge/island views that captivate. Seabirds, seals, scullers and sailboats right outside your door. Share a glass of wine on your private deck, or mingle with other happy international travelers during the daily wine and cheese hours. We opted for the propane fireplace and were very happy with simply throwing a switch when the sun went down. Welcome each morning with a weather and local activities report. The continental breakfast was simply elegant with Many fresh fruits, great breads, yogurts and steaming coffee/tea with go cups! All papers and reading materials up to date. Steps away from the ferries, one exit away from the golden gate bridge, 15 minutes from Muir woods (a MUSTsee) and about an hour from Napa Valley...Stay here...enjoy the friendly staff and atmosphere...and Thank me later...;)

Room Tip: We preferred the gas fireplace, and thoroughly enjoyed the second floor, toward the far end of the b...
