“After taking a wrong turn .. we found Jeremy's”
Reviewed January 12, 2014

Heading to Palm Desert we opted out of lunch in Julian (way too busy) and by accident found Jeremy's. Butternut Squash soup was colorful, flavorful and delicious. A minor criticism on the Caesar salad would have been more parmesan cheese. Also ordered the Pork Schnitzel with sweet/sour cabbage. Ordered the Garlic Herb fries on a whim and they are delicious, especially dipped in the chipotle aioli. The apple cobbler was freshly made and beautiful. My cell phone photo is a really poor representation. Because the cobbler is crafted when ordered, it did take some time for the dish to appear at our table .. if you have limited time to wait .. best to double-check length of time to prepare if you order a dessert. Trust me, if you do have to wait, for a memorable dessert, it's worth the wait.

I noticed a previous review was critical of the menu being heavy on red meat. I did not find that to be the case today. The menu is changed regularly. Other than some of Jeremy's standard entrees, you may not see the same dish you ordered the last time you visited.

“For meat eaters”
Reviewed December 27, 2013

The food seemed quite nice and of good quality, but it was surprising to find a place that had so little in the way of non-meat options (this is in California in the 2010s??). The menu is very much oriented towards beef, lamb, bison, and pork. When we got there at 6 PM they said they'd already sold out of the single vegetarian dish, and there were no fish, turkey, or chicken options offered. Go here if you like red meat (it's probably pretty good for that) -- try somewhere else if you want to eat lighter.

“A religious experience!”
Reviewed December 10, 2013

Dining at Jeremy's always feels as though I'm invited inside someone's home for an unpretentious, yet gourmet quality meal. It feels like a quaint farmhouse in the French countryside. Paul Bocuse comes to mind. The cuisine is consistently top notch, the local fresh ingredients make the difference and the waitstaff and service are genuinely impeccable. Worth driving a thousand miles for the lobster bisque alone. I love this place.

“First time for dinner and very pleased with the experience”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

We were staying overnight in Julian and had heard about this place. Having been told it was rather good, we decided to head down the hill a short bit to try it out. We were pleased with the ambiance and the meal. However, the food was a little too spicy for our taste. I had the tri tip and my wife had the salmon. We've had better but the place had a nice feel and good service.

“Bison burger”
Reviewed November 20, 2013 via mobile

The garlic fries were good. But if you order the bison burger, be warned, it is cooked rare and they did not let me know that. We had great service.
