“Delightful tranquil setting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 19, 2013

While staying at the Santa Ynez Inn, we wanted a special dinner for our last night there. Our proprietor suggested the Vineyard House, right next door to the Inn. The restaurant has a beautiful outdoor patio, but we chose to dine inside. We had reservations and were seated as soon as we arrived. The menu offers many tempting selections; however, our server suggested we order the special off the menu. For a reasonable price of $80. per couple, you get a bottle of wine, an appetizer, salad or soup, main course and dessert. We had calamari for an appetizer and it was done perfectly, not chewy just great! I recommend the house salad as well..My husband had steak and I had salmon and they were perfectly prepared and really tasty. We are basically white wine drinkers and ordered a Chardonnay. They served Tolosa No Oak Chardonnay which coincidentally, we had tasted earlier and loved! Did I mention the sourdough bread? It's yummy! We loved this restaurant and though it was a good price to pay for our dinner.

“Great late lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 5, 2013

We stopped in here today much later than lunch but earlier than dinner. They graciously seated us and made recommendations. We shared a calamari appetizer which was delicious. One of us had their burger and the other had a Cobb salad. Both were great. Though it was too cold to sit outside i imagine this place is packed on the deck in the summer. Unlike most patios, this one was surrounded by trees with a view of the beautiful valley and doesn't view the road nor get the noise of traffic. Lovely place with a great atmosphere.

“Best outdoor dining in Santa Ynez?”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2013

Enjoyed several dinners at Vineyard House restaurant during recent years... including with friends during August. Sat outside during a pleasant warm summer evening.

Food quality was very good, with some healthier choices. Service was attentive and efficient. Had a pleasant conversation with the apparent manager and/or owner about local wines.

Cost fit the overall very good quality experience.

Recommend and will return.

“Lovely setting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2013 via mobile

My husband and I eat here a lot and always have a good lunch. They make a wonderful Chinese chicken salad and it is quit large. The tomato soup is great. I love to sit out doors when the weather permits. The service and waiters are friendly and very good. The pork sandwich is also excellent.
