“So cushy, comfy!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2013

Everything about this property enhanced our visit to the Santa Ynez wine country. This recently built inn is Victorian in style and looks like a large converted home. Our deluxe room was huge! It was octagonal in shape with ample drawer and closet space. There were so many amenities that made our stay so comfortable. The bed, pillows and linens were so soft and comfy affording an excellent night’s sleep. We loved the in room whirlpool tub and shower sauna. The magnifying mirror in the bathroom was a nice addition but would’ve been better had the light on it actually worked. The robes were so soft. The extra touch of piped in music (Josh Groban, Frank Sinatra and Michael Buble, to name a few) was great. We loved that we could adjust the volume to our own level or just turn it off. The fireplace lent a romantic air to the already romantic Victorian design of the room. Free bottled water, coffee maker and soda were a nice touch. Perhaps the best part of the inn is the complimentary breakfast in the morning. Served in the large dining room, you usually have your choice of an egg entrée or a pancake/waffle entrée. Eggs Benedict or ricotta waffles were the choice our first morning. The second morning, the decision was between ricotta pancakes or a ham and gruyere cheese omelet. Vegetarian dishes are also available and the meal is supplemented with a variety of pastries, fruits, yogurts, and granolas to choose from. Coffee and a large selection of teas and juices are included as well. For a slight additional cost of $8, you can even have a mimosa! The staff is rarely seen but very much working behind the scenes and immediately available at the front desk. The staff in the dining room was attentive and friendly and the grounds were perfect for sitting in the garden, savoring the delicious coffee. Some rooms had balconies on which it would be great to sit and relax! The inn was within walking distance to several well reviewed restaurants including Trattoria Grappolo and SY Kitchen. This location makes a excellent home-base for exploring the many wineries in the Santa Ynez Valley and I cannot recommend it enough.

Room Tip: All 22 rooms are quiet and well spaced. Peeking into some others, they appear to vary in size and a...

My two daughters and I spent the weekend at the Inn to celebrate my youngest daughter's birthday. The staff was wonderful, the room was gorgeous, and the food and wine were delicious! The property was absolutely lovely, and the rooms and bathroom were very spacious. All 3 of us had room to get ready at the same time in the bathroom. We highly recommend this property, and we will definitely stay there again.

My husband and I stayed here this month during the wine country half marathon. We typically stay in Solvang but we waited too late to book accommodations and everything (luxury properties) was nearly sold out that weekend. We decided to give SYI a try and I'm sure glad I did. Wonderful and luxurious accommodations, warm and welcoming staff, excellent provisions and a lovely property altogether. I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else next time. However, we tried to make reservations for the same time next year...we're sad they are booked! I'm not surprised, though.

Everyone was nice and told us about what hot spots to visit. We had a really nice time. You should go it's the best ever! There were nice things to go to in the Santa Ynez Valley area to see and we had fun visiting those hot spots.

My wife and I stayed 3 nights at the Santa Ynez Inn and used it as a base for visiting the wineries in the Foxen Canyon trail, Los Olivos and Lompoc. We had a huge room with a massive bathroom. The whole place is very nice and the staff are very helpful (made recommendations about wineries and restaurants). Breakfast is excellent (note that my wife's wheat free diet was taken into account from the start).

It's not cheap but it's very, very good.

Our room was spacious and well-appointed, as was the bathroom. Everything was spotless. The service was meticulous but unobtrusive. Rick, the manager, is a perfect host. He was helpful and considerate. I can't speak highly enough of our experience here. Already looking forward to our next visit. Don't miss out on the evening wine and hors d'oeuvres. You will get to taste some great local wines you may not have heard about.

Room Tip: Stay out of 101. It's mine and I want it available in case I show up there. Huge, quiet, and t...
