“Superb beer, decent food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 3, 2014

A group of four of us traveled to Santa Rosa a couple of hours away to go to a couple of breweries in the area. Our first stop was Russian River Brewing. We arrived about 11:30 a.m. and the place was already packed. We were seated very quickly, but put at a rather small table. There were a couple of larger tables that were empty, but they had Reserved signs on them. We each ordered the complete beer sampler, a small pour of each beer that they had available, about 19 if I remember correctly. We also ordered lunch because it was that time of day. The waitress was very friendly and efficient. We received our beer samplers quickly. We received about half of those we ordered, and got the rest later because there wasn't enough room on the table. We received our lunches within a short time. Barely enough room to get the samplers and the plates on the table. I ordered a meatball sandwich and the people I was with ordered similar items. The food was good, but nothing great. However, the beers were excellent and we ended up buying bottles of a couple of their beers to take home. I would recommend coming here after lunch as I heard that the 3rd Street Brewery has better food. Didn't know this until we got back, and we didn't even know about that brewery. Wish the table had been bigger.

“Lots of fun, beer lover's heaven”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 21, 2014

OK--put their Pliny the Elder on your must drink list! My husband, who's not the biggest beer drinker in the world, loved this beer. They have an appetizer called "Beer Bites" that is just terrific. It's cut up pizza dough, sprinkled with garlic and parmesan cheese. Goes down really easy. This affords a nice change up from all the wine you're used to tasting in "wine country".

“Anyone who knows beer must visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 11, 2014

This is my holy place. I make regular trips from socal with others who appreciate beer and its always the best - from Pliny to the aged sours and Vinni's (brewer/owner) experiments - I've never had a beer I did not like here. The food is good, more a lunch place, but really, who just comes for food?

“Young, fun, and loud any night of the week”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2014

We got there on a Tuesday night at 10:30pm and still had to wait for a table! That speaks to the popularity of this place. The atmosphere is really raucous and loud --- fitting for a brewpub. We tried some of the "bites" - basically a deconstructed pizza. Marinara sauce was great. The beers are of course the highlight. Probably the best place to go out if you are staying in Santa Rosa --- and a nice break from all the wine tasting.
