“Very Nice for the Price and Location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2010

very nice property, the pool and outside restaurant was very pleasant, the only drawback I would say is the bathroom-the shower drained very slow so my ankles were actually taking a bath, also the towels were something you might find in a gym! The bed was very comfy. other than that a nice experience

The staff was welcoming and helpful. The pool area was a great place to spend the day and the sunday buffet was delicious.

My wife and I had about 4 days to spend in the wine country prior to a family reunion and decided on the Flamingo in Santa Rosa. Our check-in and check-outs were fast and friendly, our room was clean and nicely updated, and the grounds/pool and hot tub were really nice. The Flamingo was also a good value - we paid about $120 per night which was much less expensive than many of the other options. We didn't use the spa facilities, but have heard they are nice.

Santa Rosa was also a good choice for our day trips around Sonoma and up to Armstrong Redwoods Park for gorgeous scenery.

We'd recommend the Flamingo if you need a nice place in Sonoma County and don't want to break the bank!

This was our first stay at the Flamingo and we overall we were impressed. They had a "Fair Special" for $109 that included 2 tickets to the fair. A very good deal!

The property is very large and well located right in town. There is no sign of any kind for the office, so after wandering around, we finally decided to go into the restaurant (which had a big sign) and ask. Surprise! When you go into the restaurant, the office is there. You would think they could put out at least a small sign that says "OFFICE". The man who checked us in was "all business" and never even smiled, but I guess that's okay.

The hotel is right out of the 50's (or 40's?), but well maintained (except for the flower beds around the many individual buildings. They could use some good professional help). The large courtyard with a huge swimming pool was very nice.

The room we had was large and modern; even had a flat screen TV. We requested a balcony room upstairs, but that was a joke. The only "balcony" was at the end of the hallway. The rooms do have wall-to-wall windows, and some will open, so that was nice.

The hotel restaurant was typical, meaning fairly expensive. There's a Lyons right across the street.

This hotel looks like it forgot to remodel but after staying there, it adds to its charm. It reminds me of a very upscale hotel of the sixties. It could have very well been built in the Hawaiian islands when tourism was raging. But it's service, cleanliness and fantastic restaurant pleased me. It was a unique experience and I'm interested in going back again.

Spent three nights at the Flamingo. It's a two-story motel that's been given a superficial makeover to mask its true nature. Please don't be mislead by the word "resort" in this facility's title. The lobby, the restaurant, the rooms, the drive-up nature of the layout all scream 1960's era road trip in the station wagon with your family. There was no bathtub, the coffee service was on a bamboo stand in the closet, the bed was old and uncomfortable, the lighting was horrific, and we were quite disappointed with the Flamingo.

Bid on priceline for a hotel in this area and received this hotel. Went to their site and was not impressed. When I arrived, I was checked in a just a few minutes and off to my room. The hotel is old but is remodeled very nice. Due to the old construction it can be noisy and you hear a lot of people in the halls and doors slamming. Otherwise, room was very comfortable and I slept like a baby. 12 mile drive to Sonoma and all the wine tasting one can do in a day along the way. Santa Rosa had nice restaurants but at the end of the day I was too tired to go back out. Right next door to a Safeway with Starbucks.
