“A wonderful stay”
Reviewed November 2, 2007

My husband and I stayed at this wonderful hotel during one of the Russian Valley wine events. Our room was upgraded from a king delux to a king suite, because? We would not complain! I think the hotel is
in the process of renovating and they are doing a wonderful job. Our
suite was large and its decoration was very tasteful. The bathroom was recently renovated and was absolutely lovely. I guess they could provide a little bit more fluffy towels, but I cannot really complain
about that. Our view from the room was wonderful. The room was very quiet and peaceful.

I think that they are pretty much done with the renovation inside the
hotel and now are working on the outside. The carpet in the hallway is stained a bit, but the carpet in the room was very nice and clean.
They have kind of Vegas looking flamingo tower outside; however, it is part of Santa Rosa's historical landmarks.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much will definitely return to this
location.

I was hesitant of what I had booked, as the price was so reasonable. Upon ariiving in the parking lot, we too noticed the dated looking Flamingo. The grounds and pool were beautiful and well manicured. But a big Ah-Ha awaited us as we discovered a diamond of a gem hotel. Very nice front desk reception by Angela, who worked it out so we had three rooms together. The beds were outstanding, excellent linens and clean as can be. I did not like paying for wifi connection. It should be included. The location to the wine country was perfect and having the nice city of Santa Rosa nearby was helpful. We had two breakfasts and one dinner at the adjacent restaurant, Lyons. You might think we are crazy, but the food and prices were so affordable, we just kept going back. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the Flamingo for a long weekend in wine country. It is a good 'home-base' for touring Napa and Sonoma. Approx 20 minute drive to Napa and very close to the northern Sonoma areas (we loved Russian River valley). It was the most reasonably priced of all the places I researched and we weren't disappointed.

When we drove into the hotel, we were a bit worried by the huge neon sign, but then we were pleasantly surprised with the inside of the resort. Our room was very large and comfortable. It appeared to have been recently updated and the bathrooms were very nice and clean. We had a very tasty, reasonably priced breakfast at the hotel restaraunt.

Overall, I would definitely stay here again.

Hotel has a rotating giant flamingo on the roof–wow–just like Vegas. The hotel is being updated with some construction. In spite of this the hotel is well maintained and comfortable. Construction noise is toward the front of the hotel, and does not intrude into the interior. Rooms were nice with very comfortable beds, and very clean. The hotel is well located for touring the wine country. I would stay here again. The downside–several amenities are missing from the ones listed on the website. A free continental breakfast was listed, but not available. If you wish to spend about $8 they have a restaurant–not a bad price for breakfast. When we expressed surprise the staff said other items on their web list are no longer available– picnic tables for example. If any of their “offerings” are important to you-check on them with the hotel first. They offer newspapers–charge; telephones-charge ($.50 local); etc. A little nickel and dime as compared to other hotels. We were charged 107.10/night which is fairly inexpensive for this area. We booked through AAA–the hotel charged us $116/night, and could not believe we had such a “low” rate. They honored our original reservation price–take a printout of your confirmation. I really hate when a web site is incorrect as to facilities, since the website is easily updated. We walked to an I HOP next door for breakfast–probably would have done the same if it had been twice the cost, and ten feet of snow.

Classic California style with modern upgrades. Found the room and resort to be very clean, with sufficient amenities, new upgrades, and a friendly staff. The courtyard is nicely landscaped providing peaceful places to sit, read, and/or relax. Additionally, the pool is spacious and provides a swim lane to those interested in laps. The sports club is nicely equipped with all the frills and classes one would expect with an upscale fitness center but be prepare to spend an additional $12 a day to indulge your sense of wellness. Overall a great value for a tranquil resort setting, highly recommend.

My wife and I and our two teenage sons recently stayed at the Flamingo while touring the Sonoma and Napa wine country. This is a really nice place to stay. The pool is big and surrounded by nice landscaping. The restaurant was great for breakfast and lunch. The adjoining health club is an excellent facility with its own lap pool and five tennis courts. There is some lobby and entrance renovation going on but this did not interfere with our stay. Rooms were clean, spacious, and nicely furnished. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Our room rate included breakfast and health club access, an excellent value. The location is convenient to Sonoma wineries, the Napa Valley is about a 45 minute drive. I would definitely stay here again.
