Location is off of 101 making it convenient. Greeting and check in smoothly. Room had a weird smell at first but we got used to it. The room was very clean. Extra pillows tucked into the dresser was sweet. Free Wifi. Beds very comfortable. Room dated but ok. Great budget hotel.

We booked this place the day of our trip. We were looking for a budget stay and were pleasantly surprised with the motel. It is conveniently located just off the 101 Freeway. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, and the breakfast, surprisingly generous. Available were muffins and danish, several types of bread to toast, cereal, instant oatmeal, and waffle batter to cook on the two waffle irons. There was a coffee maker in the room and I think there was also a small refrigerator.
Negatives: There are only four tables in the breakfast room, but there were additional tables outside by the pool. It was a bit noisy at night (due to the activity of other hotel guests).

Room Tip: We had a ground floor room. Maybe a second story room would be quieter.

I was a bit sceptical about this hotel based upon other reviews on this site. With that sad, it was the cheapest option for a busy Labor Day weekend holiday.

The rooms are clean and the staff was nice. The breakfast options are fairly adequate but the breakfast room is a bit unorganized and when it gets crowded, the inefficiency of the organization can be frustrating. But, that is hardly a complaint about the facility.

One tip: CHECK IN EARLY as possible. We got their early and were able to get an upper-level room. The receptionist recommended that because the bottom floors typically have to deal with the noise of those on the upper floors. My only complaint was that the bed was a little more firm than I prefer, but to those who like a firm bed, it would be perfect.

I did not use the pool, but it looked nice.

It is close to a few restaurants and a Trader Joes--which was perfect for grabbing some cheeses and snacks that went well with our wine-country purchases.

Room Tip: Ask for an upper floor room.

Two thumbs up! Queen w/ sofa room for Labor Day wknd, booked on short notice. $97/nite. Definitely a good deal for wine country. Fine mattress, good towels, clean room, sturdy furnishings, good TV, pillows could be better. As others have said the pool is a hit w/ kids for sure. The hotel's included b-fast is decent, but if you want something more go to the nearby fabulous Piner Cafe.

We stayed at the Sandman after finding that every other hotel in the area was either sold out or horrendously expensive for the Saturday stay, this one came up at $97. We decided to give it a try when even the nearby Holiday Inn wanted over $300. It was a very pleasant surprise, easy to get to from the 101. The room was extremely clean and had a fridge and microwave and even real cups for the coffee. It offered an array of breakfast foods as well which was included in the room cost. I think for the money it was a great find, even though the TV was one of the old style ones it worked fine, not fancy, just great value. My only negative was the bed and pillows which were harder than I'm used to, would be nice to offer a soft pillow option but all round a great value hotel for a stay.

Room Tip: ask for one in the back section away from the road, they are not the most sound proof rooms.

We don't usually hang at the pool because they are almost always too small and crowded. This one is nice and big and my husband could even do his laps in it. The spa is also big. The rooms, although a little small, are very adequate and clean. The location is good too--right off Hwy. 101-- but our room was quiet with no freeway noise. It seems to be a family-run motel and the staff is friendly and helpful. It was the best lodging of our whole trip.

We stayed here 2 nights to do the Sonoma Valley. This place was a nice find in a central location. Friendly desk, clean rooms, included very decent breakfast. No reason not to stay here, and the price was right. We found a ton to do within easy driving distance. Pick this place and you will not be disappointed. Kudos to the entire staff.

Room Tip: We faced the pool, ice machine close, breakfast a hop, skip & jump away:)
