Service was very prompt on arrival and we were in our room in no time at all. The room size was large and cleanliness was to a high standard. As ever with big chain hotels nothing is free and Internet cost $9.99 for 24hrs. Noise was never a problem throughout the night and checkout was again speedy.

Stayed 1 night in a double with king size bed. Very comfortable room - very clean hotel. Good location for exploring Santa Rosa - which we both felt was just as pleasant as Petalouma down the road.
Watch out for Wifi-charges - $9.95 for 24 hours - rip-off which I'd be amazed anybody uses at those prices.

We stayed three nights at the Vineyard Creek. in July, 2012. The hotel has a general run down look, with common areas needing new paint, carpets, fixtures, etc. There are absolutely no extras - expect to pay for morning coffee, for example.

The room was just okay and extremely overpriced at over $300 per night. And it had the distinct smell of dog pee. To be fair, when called, housekeeping did spray something to try to eliminate the smell. It worked somewhat.

One extreme bright spot is the spa, which is exceptional. We had a number of treatments, all of which we were very happy with.

We enjoyed our stay over the Labor Day holiday weekend here. The rooms were reasonably spaceous, recently renovated and had ample amenities (although no refrigerator). The staff was cheerful, and the restaurant had a nice breakfast. The location couldn't be beat, as it is right off the 101, within walking disctance of the Railroad District with its coffee shops and restaurants and no more than 10-15 minutes driving distance from many Sonoma area wineries..

Everything about the Hyatt Vineyard Creek is about right, it just doesn't feel like a typical Hyatt. It seems more casual, like it's happy to be in Santa Rosa, but not worried about being the best in town. The staff at reception were effective and chatty, but we received no greetings from any of the other service staff during our two day stay. We don't think that's a big deal, just noticed its absence.

There is no free access, of any sort, to the internet at this hotel. We scraped half a rating point off for that reason alone.

Everything else about the Vineyard Creek is excellent. The location and setting are very nice and quiet. There are many restaurants within 4 blocks of the hotel and downtown Santa Rosa is an easy 5-6 block walk. The direct route downtown, along 3rd Street, passes underneath the mall (Santa Rosa Plaza) and is very poorly lit as well as being quite dirty. You could cut through the mall itself when it's open.

The pool is large with lots of space to relax on the deck or dip into the hot tub. The perfect end to a day filled with wine tastings. The poolside snack bar/bar was not open during our mid July visit and looked to be abandoned.

The rooms and bathrooms are both nicely sized and very clean. As mentioned in previous reviews, there is no mini fridge. It would seem that a beverage cooler would be an obvious addition for a hotel in wine country.

Weekends are very busy and expensive, that makes week nights a bargain, especially if you use discount travel site. Our $77 bid on Priceline for a Wednesday and Thursday stay was accepted by the Hyatt.

Stayed 5 nights prior to Labor Day weekend. LARGE quiet room with semi-private courtyard. Great proximity to downtown square. Breakfast and service at Brasserie were excellent. Hotel front desk personnel exceptionally friendly and helpful. Would be nice to have a mini-fridge in rooms for bottled water and wine purchases.

Keep your expectations in check. This is not the ritz but a great hotel to visit when touring Sonoma and napa. Rooms are clean and standard Hyatt. Brasserie is excellent for breakfast so get a rate that includes it. Location is great, parking free and you can walk to restaurants in downtown Santa Rosa.

Also staff is very helpful and they have a service to pack and ship your wine back to you at reasonable rates.
