Description: A San Francisco Chronicle Bay Area Top 100 Restaurant for four years, Willi's Wine Bar's classic roadhouse appeal captures the casual, laid-back nature of Sonoma County Wine Country. Tourists and locals feel equally at home enjoying a quick bite or lingering over a glass of wine. The menu at Willi's features international small plates, some wildly inventive and others comfortingly familiar. Staff is eager to help create perfect pairings with wines from the extensive wine list, many by local producers. Most wines are available in twoounce tastes as well as by the glass or bottle..

“Good Food, Good Wine”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

Overall review (Bad, OK, Good): Food = Good; Service = Good; Ambience = Good

Food: We shared three dishes - Ahi Tuna Tartare with Lemon, Shiso & Pine Nuts, Pork Belly Pot Stickers with Five Spice & Shiitake Mushrooms, and Arugula & Endive Salad, Avocado, Manchego Cheese, Toasted Almonds, Meyer Lemon- Truffle Vinaigrette. All were good and filling. The flavor balance in each dish worked.

Aside from the surrounding wineries, it's a good place to try different local wines. We had the Russian River Rochioli. It was a nice, light wine.

Service: Attentive enough not to be overbearing.

Ambience: Cute. The indoor area was dimly lit so it sets a nice mood. We sat on the outside patio which had a nice ambiance - very relaxing.

“Surreal situation”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

Charming place with very good food. However, The restaurant failed in a way that ruined the evening for guests in an entire patio area. An out of control diner (at a table with very intoxicated friends -who continued to be served alcohol) repeatedly screamed at the top of his lungs, banged and intimidated the guests at other tables for well over an hour. The situation was a hundred times worse than anything I have ever witnessed. It was absolutely crazy and a little scary. At one point, he turned around and starred right into my eyes for about half a minute as if to say, I dare you to say something. Yet, no one in the restaurant said one word to the perpetrator other than to continue to take his drink orders. This sociopath did everything in his power to destroy the evening for every other diner. Evidently, he is a regular, so all I can say is BEWARE.

“Great place to share wine and food”
Reviewed June 16, 2013 via mobile

My wife and I were recently in Santa Rosa, California on a combination business/pleasure trip. Willi's was recommended by our hotel and although I'm generally skeptical of hotel restaurant recommendations this one was very good. Very nice selection of wines and small plates and a comfortable outdoor seating area. Wines are served in 2 and 5 ounces which provides nice flexibility to sample a variety of local wines. The small plates are generously sized and the selection is diverse. Good choice for a casual dinner.

“Gourmet food with no pretensions”
Reviewed June 6, 2013

Willi's was our first meal on our 6 day wine tasting maraud. It was so awesome we cancelled our Friday night reservation elsewhere and came back to Willi's for a second time. We got lucky and had a superb waiter named Jason who was able to explain the menu in an unhurried fashion and guided us towards excellent choices. This is basically tapas, meant for sharing. The wine "flights" are a great idea, so for one fairly low price you get to sample 3 different wines from one region. We enjoyed the "Iberian " flight and fell in love with a Tempranillo/Granache blend from Spain.Even for dessert wines you can have a sample of 3 different ones.
We loved the tuna tartare--by far the best we have ever eaten. Other great dishes: curried crab tacos, "Mu shu" bacon, goat cheese fritters, asparagus soup shooters, truffled french fries and fantastic pork belly pot stickers---rty them , you will love them.
The only thing we did not care for were the Moroccan lamb chops--overspiced, overcooked and served with a mushy cous-cous.
This is a great place to go. Ask for Jason and try for seating on the screened in patio.
