It's a pretty setting, vineyards next to mountains, with delicious wines to taste. Right off Hwy 12, it's in the middle of the Sonoma Valley. They have various events during the year, including The Blessing of the Animals, wine and food pairings, and Movies under the Stars. It should be a definite stop if you're meandering through the valley, sipping and touring. Casual fun, and quality products.

“Valley of the Moon”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

There are many areas of wines in Sonoma County......Dry Creek in Healdsburg, Russian River, Alexander Valley, Valley of the Moon along highway 12. This is the easiest valley to visit, and is maybe 15 minutes from downtown Santa Rosa and stretches all the way to Sonoma. St. Francis is one of the best, yet there are dozens more, all very good. St. Francis is one of the first you will encounter from Santa Rosa. It has a beautiful tasting room and some wonderful wines. If you have the time you can also try the wine pairing which costs more but is well worth the price. The grounds are wonderful too for sipping wine and walking about the winery. The hills behind the winery are beautiful in the afternoon. A wonderful experience along the Valley of the Moon. After stopping here continue on down the valley and try the other wineries all the way to Sonoma Plaza where you can stop for dinner..... Have a great time.

“Favorite Winery in all of Napa/Sonoma!”
Reviewed July 26, 2013

St. Francis was our favorite winery in all of Napa and Sonoma. First, the grounds are amazing. The views as you sit out back on the patio and look up at the mountains are so beautiful. Definitely spring for a food/wine tasting so that you can enjoy this space and the views. We did the charcuterie plate and wine tasting and it was amazing. You do get quite a bit of food. We ate every morsel. The young man doing our tasting was very knowledgeable and friendly. While they usually choose the three wines you will taste for you, he allowed us to choose the three that we wanted to try. As we like heavy reds, this was right up our alley. We had the Cab Franc, Malbec, and Meritage. Their selection of wines was also more extensive than most of the other wineries we visited. We did end up having a bottle on the patio, and we stayed there for several hours (it was our first winery of the day). We ended up taking home several bottles in our suitcase--this was the only wine we brought home from our trip, so I think that speaks to the quality of it. We would have joined the case club if only Pennsylvania allowed it! Don't miss this special place.

“Simply amazing!”
Reviewed July 20, 2013

As so many others here have said, the wine pairing meals at St. Francis are a MUST do! If I lived remotely in the area, they would know me by name because I would be there often. The food was exceptional and the wine pairings made both, the food and the wine, pop with flavors. It was also a really fun time and not the least bit pretentious. The price for all of this was extremely reasonable as well.

“Wow!”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

I cannot say enough about the wine tasting experience at St. Francis. If you read the other reviews here, they are correct! Best wine & food pairing lunch. Lovely grounds and facility. Super pleasant staff. We loved meeting the chef after the lunch and sharing a glass of wine with her. She was a riot! Sadly, this was our second wine tasting and ruined it for the rest of the wineries we visited. No one else compared!
