Our host was so funny and informative. And he was managing four groups by himself. We bought an interesting Red and a winery glass (good value).

This was our second trip to Hanna. The views were as astonishing as we remembered. Take a picnic and buy a glass or a bottle and enjoy the incredible scenery. The wine was a little hit and miss, nothing blew us away, but there were a few nice ones. We were having a really nice time until we placed our order. Evidently, we didn't buy enough wine, because our hostess developed a decidedly chilly attitude, where as before, she had been quite friendly. It was a slightly unfortunate ending to a really pleasant afternoon. Not everyone can buy a case at every winery, or join every wine club. Not a good way to build lasting relationships. Still well worth a visit for the views alone!

An extremely knowledgeable staff, a great lineup of wines and a truly beautiful location make for a great afternoon at this winery. This is our 3rd year touring the wineries of both Sonoma and Napa Valleys and our first time at Hanna. The day did not disappoint. It is a rare winery, I have found, that offers a lineup where the vast majority of their wines are palatable, let alone of consistently great quality. I came away so impressed that I joined their wine club, not an easy thing for me to do when there are literally hundreds of good wines worldwide to choose from. Their outdoor tables overlooking the beautiful hillsides of planted vines are so peaceful to sit and eat your lunch by. Take your own cooler and enjoy the day!

I'm sorry to say that we arrived just a tad too late in the day to do any wine tasting. However, I still thought it was worth a comment to mention the spectacular views of the Alexander Valley from the patio outside their tasting room. We were there at the end of July, and it was vineyards, rolling hills, lavender and sunflowers in every direction. Who needs a trip to France?

If you want to picnic and drink in the views (hopefully you arrive in time for some tasting as well) my suggestion is Jimtown Store, just down the road, for unbelievable deli food.

I'm a bit confused by the address listed here, though. The tasting room is on Hwy. 128, out of Healdsburg. It's no where near Santa Rosa.
