Since it's hard to find a hotel in any wine country area for one night (on a weekend, no less), I was a little hesitant when this motel had a room available. I have to say, for the price, I was impressed by the cleanliness of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff. In addition, you can tell that the hotel has been recently renovated by the reupholstered furniture, new carpets, new paint and nice new pillow-top beds. Another "plus" is that the hotel sits at a right angle to busy Santa Rosa Avenue, which keeps the noise level down (at least in the back rooms). For the shopaholics, there are quite a few stores within the area (Borders Books, Starbucks, home stores, etc.).
We did find the walls a bit thin, but not too bad. In addition, there must have been a staff "snafu" on Sunday morning because the poor desk clerk was trying to check people out as well as maintain the breakfast area. Overall, it was a nice place and I probably wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
