“Beautiful gardens and history combined”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

I had always heard of Luther Burbank and also the Santa Rosa plum but never put two and two together. When we moved up to Sonoma County, we visited the Luther Burbank home and gardens and learned how much he contributed to agriculture and hybrid plants. He was persistent and worked very hard to achieve his excellent results. The gardens are lovely and many of the plants he developed are in the well-kept gardens. The docent tour is excellent although a little long. But you will learn a great deal and will enjoy the tour much more. This is a special place we love to take visitors. It is HIGHLY recommended!!

“This is another sonoma county gem”
Reviewed February 4, 2013

the history of Luther Burbank and what he did for this area is amazing and you will get a really good look at his efforts when you visit the gardens and home of this famous resident. I love flowers and plants, and have been visiting this place since I was in grade school. Enjoy

“Lovely”
Reviewed December 13, 2012

If you like botanicals, this place will excite you. Beautiful grounds, especially if you go in the Spring when the flowers begin to bloom and the trees flower. You'll see what and how Luther Burbank created hybrids, as well as his home and the hot house he used for his experiments. Plenty of off-street parking assures you can spend hours walking about the property and focus on Burbank's botanical experiments.

“Lovely old home”

The waterfall grounds are nice - the traffic noise can be bothersome, but just off form the main downtown area, it is to be expected. Nice plantings.

“Lovely, Peaceful Gardens”

Fascinating to see the house and hear about the greenhouse and all the things that Mr. Burbank was involved in. He helped develop the Santa Rosa plum....one of my favorites.
