“Be aware: Kids NOT welcomed here!!!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2014

Beautiful place but kids are NOT welcomed here!!!

I dropped by today with friends. 4 adults and 3 kids 3-7 yr. We had wine tasting and liked the blanc. We bought 4 bottles on the spot and were seriously considering getting the estate membership since we enjoy drinking good wines with friends.

But the service lady said our kids were too loud so we brought them down to the large yard 3 floors down and about 200 ft away from the tasting room. But after awhile she came again and asked how long we plan to stay around. I asked why and she said they had private tasting going on and the kids are too loud.

Jesus Christ! Why don't you put a sign in front and say kids NOT welcomed here! You just lost a few grands of business from me and my friends each year. We are not coming back ever again.

“Best of the Best vineyards to visit of all the valleys”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 1, 2014

After 20-30 yrs of visiting dozens of vineyards in Napa, Sonoma and the Monterey area, we finally came upon the Best of the Best! We had sampled many bottles of Matanza Creek Pinots over the years, so I was familiar with the wine and was anxious to find the vineyard.

However, it's tucked away - over a narrow winding road that crosses a mounttain - if you approach it from the Sonoma Valley side. We hear it's easier from the West side of the Sonoma mountains!

After snaking across the valley there's a sign that points the way....and you find yourself in an endless field of Lavender - a sea of purple in all directions. You weave thru the field and see this huge house like structure up again a hill! Then you park and have a choice of walking into the Lavender field (which we did) or pathways that lead to gardens and waterfalls...and what might be considered an enchanted landscapers dream setting.

The tasting room has to be one of the finest of all and the wines are magnificant! We sampled several and then spen the next hour relaxing in the gardens. BTW, there were few other visitors and we had tpretty mcuh the whole place to ourselves.

We can't wait to go back!

“Excellent wine and cheese pairing”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2014

We did the wine and cheese pairing and we were very happy. Dont know which was better, the wine or the cheese. They did a Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cab, and Pinot Noir. Each of the cheeses also had an artisan "condiment" to go with them. They also let us taste a couple other Cabs that they had available. Sat near a window looking out on the lavender garden - gorgeous!
