“Amazing value and convenient location”
Reviewed April 7, 2011

This review is from a stay in Aug 2010 with my wife and other couple. The hotel has a lot going for it: large, well equiped rooms with luxurious Sferra bed linens, and an excellent upscale restaurant with unbeatable sunset vineyard views. They have a well stocked wine cellar in the lobby, at vineyard - not hotel - prices. The location is close enough to the highway for easy access, but secluded enough that you'll never know it's near while you're in the grounds. What they lack (if these things matter to you) is a resort-style pool/cabana and a full-service spa. For the quality, location and price, this hotel is hard to beat.

Room Tip: The best views are on the second floor facing west

We loved the Inn from the moment we arrived. The front desk was very helpful and our room was nice with a comfy bed and a patio we could sit on and enjoy the beautiful grounds. We enjoyed the hot tub in the evening and a walk around the vineyard on a path early in the morning. Dinner at John Ashe was lovely with a wonderful view of the vineyard. The continental breakfast was nice, but ordering from the menu meant a wonderful omlette and freshly made jam. We ate in front of a fire in the breakfast room and regretted not staying another night!

We have stayed here twice. Each stay has been fantastic! The hotel is beautiful, the grounds-perfect, the accommodations-lovely, and the staff- exceptional.
The restaurant and bar are gorgeous and serve amazing foods and wines!
If you want one of the most excellent stays in the wine country, look no further.....

Okay, let's get the weird neighbor out of the way first. The Vintners Inn is situated close to Highway 101, but as you're driving up to it, you see a massive PG&E power station situated directly across Dry Creek Road from the property. Don't worry. That's the last time you'll see it until you leave the property, and you'll never notice it while you're there.
The Vintners Inn is a wonderful place for a getaway, a wedding, or just a chance to recharge your batteries. It feels much more secluded than it is. Our room looked directly over the vineyards (I assume they, like the property, also belong to Ferrari Carino) so you get a nice Wine Country-vibe as you're relaxing with your little complimentary bottle of Fumé Blanc.
We had a huge room with a fireplace, more pillows than you know what to do with, and even a sofa. They had a nice TV with all the required channels. In the morning, complimentary coffee was located at the bottom of the stairs outside our room - very convenient.
We had dinner at John Ash and Company on the hotel grounds, and the food was excellent (try the "bacon and eggs" starter - pork belly with quail eggs and duck fat fingerling potatoes). They have an extensive wine selection but you won't find many wines under $30/bottle.
Their location on Dry Creek Road is close to many different wineries. We got a free tasting at Kendall Jackson and Ferrari Carino, saving us $5.00 per person per winery.
It's also just up the road from the Wells Fargo Event Center, so if you're coming to Santa Rosa for a concert, consider staying here.
I would definitely go there again!

We stayed at the Vintners Inn for a friend's wedding in healdsburg area and I was able to catch a deal on Travelzoo which allowed us to stay at the Inn at a very reasonable price with dining credit from the John Ash Co. It rained the entire weekend, however, we enjoyed our stay at the Vintners Inn and would definitely come back in the future. Check-in was rather painless and we were offered wine tasting coupons and breakfast vouchers. We checked out the Kendall wine tasting room and had a wonderful afternoon snack at Willis seafood bar. Our dinner at John Ash is equally pleasant and my favorite dish was the seared foie gras. I had the eggs dish next day for breakfast and my fiance enjoyed his egg benedict as well. Upon check-out, the manager let us take the umbrella in the room at no cost and we truly appreciated the parting gift. We also liked the outdoor jacuzzi and would recommend bringing swim suits along. We stayed in the 300 bldg and didn't notice the power plant outside at all. The bed was very comfortable and we slept very well that night.

We've been here a few times before and it never disappoints. All of the rooms are great but the king fireplace rooms have a bit of a view that is really nice. There is morning coffee in each of the 4 buildings and a great continental breakfast in the main building. Dinner (if you want) is at the John Ash which is part of the property and the food is very good. For a real treat, I'd suggest Willie's Raw Bar for lunch or dinner in Healdsburg. The location of the Inn is very central and a great choice for wine tasting in the area.

This hotel is located RIGHT next to the highway. They have white noise machines and fountains outside, so the noise is not really an issue, but it's pretty awful anyway. There's also a large electrical power station just outside the hotel entrance. Honestly, if I had known, I NEVER would have stayed here. The staff were very nice, the rooms were quite large -- but who wants to be in the industrial section of paradise?
