“A great Hilton Garden Inn”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2009

Stopped here on our way home to Bellevue, WA with a reservation. Great and easy check-in with a very nice young lady who answered all of our questions. We had a room on the first floor as requested and found it to be first rate in all respects although somewhat on the small side. The room was very clean and everything worked until I took my shower and the tube wouln't drain.

This Graden Inn has a full bar and a full service restaurant, which I have never seen before having stayed at many hotels of this brand. Since we were tired after driving from Westlake Village, CA we decided to eat in the restaurant. The food was very good as was the service from the waitress/bartender. The breakfast the next morning was also very good, but be warned you do have to pay for it at $10.95 each. This is also quite different form other Hilton Garden Inns, but we found it to be delicious and a good value for what they offered. Check-out was a snap and we were on our way North. We very much recommend this property to anyone traveling on the 101 hihghway in Santa Rosa!

We stayed for 5 nights and loved the Hilton Garden Inn Santa Rosa. It was wonderful to fly right into Santa Rosa airport, pick up our bags, rental car and be at the hotel within 20 minutes of landing. The location is great to explore west Sonoma County wineries and all the sights. The rooms were wonderful - comfortable beds and all the amenities including a refrigerator. The rooms were also very quiet. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet and all the choices offered, nice egg dishes to order, yogurt parfaits, etc. The staff and service were all terrific. We will most definitely stay there again on our next trip to the wine country.

I can't say enough about this hotel. We had been at Yosemite the previous 4 nights, so finding a place that had coin operated laundry on site, a fully equipped business center, pool and fitness center, plus a reasonably priced restaurant was wonderful. It is a great location, close to Windsor. It was clean, the staff was great and the beds were so comfy. I was afraid we'd hear noise from the highway and airport, but it was a non issue. They use sleep number beds, we slept like babies.

I've stayed in all kinds of hotels, from Fairmont and Ritz-Carlton luxury hotels, to boutique B& Bs (such as the Grape Leaf Inn in Healdsburg), and chain budget-priced accommodations similar to the Hilton Garden Inn. This particular HGI was better than all those taking into consideration the location and price.

As other reviews mention, this is a new property--only about 8 months since it's opening. So it's clean and shiny and the staff are committed to keeping it that way. Upon arrival they reminded us that the entire property is dedicated no-smoking in order to maintain the quality. Hooray! The rooms are traditional in terms of decor and not terribly large, but spacious enough. There's free WiFi throughout the property, a small fridge (that's quiet!) in each room and a microwave. Good news if you take leftovers from any of the many wonderful restaurants in Sonoma county. The bed is on the extra-firm side, but it has nice linens and is covered by a duvet that the property advertises as having been washed between guest stays. That's good news for those of us who know how really dirty most hotel bedspreads etc. are.

There are lots of towels in the bathroom, which has only one sink and a tub-shower, but the shower curtain has a mesh top which allows you to see out and lets light in while you're showering. A nice feature. Also, there is no noisy fan attached to the bathroom light, a god-send for those of us who find the din of those fans annoying.

There's a small work-out room with head-phones so you can watch a personal tv attached to each piece of cardio equipment. It would be nice if the Inn invested in some weights--a suggestion from my husband.

The real plus of this property are the staff. Priscilla at the front desk was especially warm and helpful; Amy, the evening waitress was terrific as was the morning waitress. Even the cook in the little restaurant--which has terrific food, by the way--took time to wish us good morning and ask if our meal was okay. Everyone was very friendly and worked hard to make our stay enjoyable. (Mission accomplished.)

I will definitely stay at this property again. It's not the Fairmont Kea Lani--my favorite hotel in all the world--but it's also not $600 per night. And, to be honest, for that price you expect people to be extra nice. For $132 the staff at the Hilton Garden Inn Sonoma were more genuine. Truly terrific!

Quiet & clean. Since it's close to the STS airport, it allowed us an early, early a.m. departure. The manager shuttled us to the airport at 4:30 a.m. & back again at 10 pm --very hospitable. Cineplex next door is also convenient. Super staff.

Stayed here for a few days in October. The property is new and the rooms were very clean. The beds can be adjusted by a dial for firmness and softness. The pool and spa were always empty and the fitness center has some really nice equipment. The room service is a nice option for dinner, but the breakfast was a little pricey. Great location for wine tasting in the Russian River area and nearby Windsor has some great dining options. The free WI-FI was fast and never dropped signal. I would stay here again.

This is a brand-new hotel with extra features (compared to others in its class) that boost its standing. Among them are an indoor pool and hot tub, a fitness center, an onsite restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, a top-notch business center, new flat-screen TVs and two queen-size beds.

At check-in, I received two bottles of water and fresh cookies (all you can eat, too). For an extra $20, I got the breakfast package which entitled my family of 4 to a breakfast that included made-to-order omlettes, pancakes, waffles, sausage, bacon, yogurt, fruit salad, bagels, breakfast pastries, hash browns, fresh fruit, juice, milk, coffee, tea...you get the picture. All of this costs around $100 a night, so you're getting good value.

We chose this hotel for its proximity to Safari West and Sonoma Wine Country. It was very close to Route 101 and next to a movie theatre and shopping center. Still, the room was quiet and we had no trouble sleeping even though the room air conditioner was running full-blast.

A word about the pool. It's not a a very large pool, but more than adequate for a group of kids (I had three with me at the time) wanting to splash around and have fun. My wife and I sat in the hot tub and watched the kids enjoy themselves for a couple of hours. Next to the pool, there's an outdoor patio with chairs for those who wish to get a tan.

During our weekend stay, the hotel was crowded with hotel guests ranging from Wine Country tourists and soccer tournanment families. Despite the number of guests, the hotel staff remained friendly and efficient. I definitely plan to stay here again next year when we visit Sonoma County.

  • Liked — The indoor pool was very nice
  • Disliked — Nothing. A perfect weekend
