It's a very nice hotel with a great location... But had some issues when checking in, and getting the room in a timely manner (4:30...) and the right one that was promised....This caused me to be late for a meeting.....

You do get what you pay for. Excellent property, facilities, food, beverage and entertainment. Top notch service. Can't beat the location with easy walk to the beach. $45 / day valet only negative a could mention, but it is on the beach and when you need your car they get it right to you. We stayed on the 5th floor with patio and walk out to pool. FANTASTIC!

I got married at this hotel and a few of us stayed at the hotel the night before and the night of. I guess I'm spoiled with hotels in Dubai, but the hotel is overpriced for what you get. The location is great, the staff are friendly, and the hotel is nice. There was nothing that put it above and beyond other hotels I've stayed at around the world. But compared to hotels in the US, I guess it is a very good hotel. Their breakfast selection is pretty sad. The process of planning the wedding was frustrating at first because the rate of response was quite slow. It got better once I expressed my frustration, which is nice. Coming from overseas there are a lot of restrictions for planning a wedding in Santa Monica that I was not aware of, which is not the fault of the hotel. They tried to work with me as much as possible, which was helpful. In the end, the wedding was a success and everything ran smoothly. But every tiny additional item you want costs so much extra that at the end of the day I am not sure it's worth the price.
