My husband and I are in town for the weekend and were lucky enough to get a table without reservations on a typical busy Saturday night. We had a wonderful dinner...the meal was delicious and the service was top-notch. Our waitress (Nicole D.) was very helpful, friendly and took very good care of us as did the servers who brought our bread and kept my glass full of water and bagged up our leftovers.
We both had their signature aged steak and shared sides of creamed spinach and garlic mashed potatoes. I usually don't eat New York Strip Steak - but BOA knows how to prepare and cook it. I ordered the petite and still had 1/2 left. My husband got the regular and enjoyed it all! We didn't order any appetizer or salad, but the variety on the menu looked appealing.
Give them a try - it is on the high $$ end, but well worth it!

Close to the beach on Santa Monica Blvd. we were two that got lucky to get a table at BOA on a Friday night in June. The place was packed with a younger crowd. We scored a table outside on the sidewalk and watched the world go by. Our waitress was funny and terrific. Blackened NY Strip Steak was spiced and cooked perfectly. Scallops were tender and succulent. Spinach, mushroom and corn sides were great additions. A bit pricey, but this is Santa Monica.

We were recommended this place by our concierge - and what a great recommendation! We were not able to book, but we were able to get a table as 'walk-ins'. The mood in the restaurant was super cool, relaxed and funky. The staff were attentive without being over the top, the food was really fantastic. Would highly recommend!!

We had an intimate beach wedding in Santa Monica and were in search of a high quality restaurant for our "reception" - while having to cater to 50% of us being super picky eaters. We settled on Boa and were all in love with it by the end of our meal! The restaurant had a huge variety of options so no one had trouble ordering.

The bacon jam addition to the steaks was a unanimous favorite amongst our group and brought on fighting between people for the leftover bits others didn't eat. I had the petite NY strip (with bacon jam, of course) and it was the best steak I have ever had... this is coming from an Albertan beef snob! All of the comments from our group were very favorable.

We didn't realize until finishing our order that the sides were "sharing size" and we ended up with a bit more food than we needed. On the plus side, we got to mix and match our sides and ended up with more variety than if we had ordered alone.

I'm really big on fancy desserts and I found our selections to be very average. We split the homemade cookies and a cheesecake; both were very fresh and plates were licked clean, but the quality and flavor was quite standard to most restaurants. Boa's strong point is definitely their entrees.

The only complaint is that the restaurant is VERY noisy between how many people they try to fit in there and how loud the music is, so it was hard to have conversations from one end of our table to another.

Made a reservation for two earlier in the week, at the last minute they switched it to a larger number without any problems. Food and serive is always great.
