We chose this property specifically to have a quiet space to heal after my surgery, conveniently located so my family could enjoy activities while I rested. I had several friends who stayed here before and had nothing but positive feedback, and my experiences with Fairmont properties had all been quite pleasant.
I called a day before to inquire about upgrade availability (we use the Amex FHR program) and I was told the hotel was booked for an event all weekend. I let the front desk agent know the purpose of our travel and was told I'd have a quiet room. When I checked in I let the agent know of our need for a quiet room and was told we'd be in a nice bungalow away from the noise.
It is now 10 pm Sunday night and it sounds as if a frat party is occurring outside my room. Apparently the lobby lounge 'spills' into the courtyard across from room 153 when full. This is anything but restful.
Furthermore, on 2 occasions I called the spa to request a service-both times were told they were booked without an offering for an alternate time/date.
If I wanted a loud party hotel I would have stayed in LA. The noise and lack of customer service I'd grown used to at a Fairmont property isn't here. It's late at night and I'm quite frustrated. More
