“felt like home”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

My husband and I stayed here for one night at the beginning of our Pacific Coast Highway trip. We were greeted by the friendly staff at the door and given a tour of the charming inn. Our room had a nice view and was just a mile away from the Santa Monica pier. The room was clean, cozy and relaxing. It felt more like we were visiting friends than staying in a hotel. Breakfast was served in the dining room in the morning including a souffle, fresh baked pastries, coffee and teas. The fireplace was always burning and the staff was very welcoming. We would love to visit some of the other 4 Sisters Inns!

wow california knows how to do comfy beds and this place is even amazing for california standards! we were in room 8 and the bed was huge!!! Really comfy and nice room

The homemade granola is super delicious- really really yummy- i will dream of it!

quite a few restaurants to walk to nearby (cafe delfini is very romantic and candle-lit- a little expensive but lovely ambience)

This home is beautiful- i wish it was mine!

The only reason 4.5 and not 5 (and i was considering a 5 so really was close) is as the location was a little further from the Pier than I had realised so we decided not to venture back into town in the evening due to the additional taxi costs . But during day it was actually quite nice to walk along the beach and then back via the pretty streets- this is a very affluent area.

Rebecka was extremely helpful and the common areas are delightful- like i say wish it was mine!

Stayed at this property for 5 days as part of our California road trip and it was everything we expected and more. We booked a petit suite which was far larger than expected and was on the ground floor - the room is well suited for people with any accessibility issues.
The inn is furnished to a high standard and the 4 lovely innkeepers we met were so helpful and knowledgable. Breakfast was relaxed continental style and the wine hour was a great way to chat to other guests. 24hour coffee and tea is also an added bonus!
Worth mentioning that there are some great local restaurants close to the inn to save you from having to drive into town when you want to go for dinner. We ate at Marix (Tuesday all you can eat tacos!) the Hungry Cat and Sam's. All were within a 5 minute walk from the inn and we had great meals at all of them.

The pier is around 1.8 miles away so around a 40 minute walk. We really enjoyed doing this and if we were too tired/hot to walk back we caught the $1 Blue Bus which stops just outside the inn. Taxis were pretty reasonable too at around $8-10.

Personally I wouldn't stay anywhere else if I was in town, I loved it and can't wait to return one day.

Stayed here with my husband and 2 young children. The staff were very helpful, when were booked ( to get a good room for us) and while we're there. We were minutes from the beach but the weather was not great, so couldn't really do much there. It's also a 5 minutes from Santa Monica pier. Couldn't ask for more

We had already stayed at a Four Sisters Inn in Santa Cruz - but this one in Santa Monica would have to take some beating!!! It was the perfect way to unwind for two night before heading home to the UK! The beautiful lounge as you walked into through the front door and the lovely welcome from the staff who showed you around before taking you to your room. Cookies at your disposal and a fridge full of sodas to help yourself to - just a lovely touch! Out bedroom was a Cosy Queen and we had a lovely en-suite bathroom. I have to say that we had the 2 best nights sleep of the whole holiday - it was so comfortable!!! Breakfast was plentiful and there was always the opportunity of helping yourself to more tea, coffee etc in the lounge when you needed it. Wine & Cheese in the later afternoon also added a nice touch after a day out in the car! We were recommended to a lovely Italian restaurant called Delfin, a short walk away which fortunately had a table for us (booked by our lovely host!) Food there was delicious! Second night we drove into Santa Monica to a fab Chinese Restaurant called PF Chang (part of a chain of chinese restaurants) where the food was exceptional and much better than we have ever had in parts of London1 A great end to our holiday for 2013!

Room Tip: Room 10 - Cosy Queen! Didn't notice any noise we slept so well!

You feel peace and comfort envelop you as you are greeted by the manager at the front door of this fine old home about 2 miles along the coast from the epicentre of Santa Monica. You want coffee? Home-made streusel cake? A can of cold coke? Advice about restaurants? It's yours... Any time! The house is furnished with huge comfy armchairs and has a gleaming polished oak floor. Our huge bedroom with kingsize bed had a desk, armchairs, walk-in closet. Each room is individually furnished. Breakfast includes a vast buffet with a hot egg dish (e.g. Feta and spinach soufflé), fresh fruit, juice, granola... And more cake. There is a recipe book in case you feel moved to repeat the culinary experience at home. At 5pm wine, cheese, savouries... and yet more cake. Staff are always around to advise you and pamper you. You can watch them mixing cake in the kitchen that is also the office. Free off street parking. Free wifi. .
The only thing missing (surprisingly) was shower gel... But I'd rather have cake, any day.

Room Tip: They all look good, but some are bigger than others, though dearer.

We were on a month long road trip and this was the last stop for us. It couldn't have been better! Staff was very nice and the house is lovely. Very comfortable and nicely decorated. Breakfast was the best and I liked that we could borrow movies from the shelf for our room. We also used bikes (for free) to go to the Santa Monica Pier. The beach is very close. We had to leave early in the morning before breakfast but we got some muffins with us. I will definitely stay here again!
