wow! you wouldn't believe there could be such a tranquil place to stay in LA or even Santa Monica - and right by the beach! This is a small and adorable bed & breakfast, the rooms are great with lots of natural light and overlooking a beautiful garden. Breakfast is fresh and homemade and the evening wine & hors deuvres reception is awesome - The smell of flowers, the white soft sheets, the classical music, the yummy quiche, the welcome cookies - it all feels like your host is Bree from Desperate Housewives! (in a good sense, though). They also have a hot tub, as well as free bike rental. LOVED IT!

I love this B & B. We had just visited in August, fell in love with it, and when another opportunity presented itself (a concert at nearby Pepperdine University) we booked again rather than make a one hour drive back to our home.

I say this, because usually I would simply drive the hour rather than pay for a "hotel". However, as I said in my previous review, this is not an ordinary place. The rooms are all unique, beautifully decorated...not cutesy...sophisticated...and the atmosphere throughout the Inn is a little addicting.

The staff is absolutely wonderful; each person you meet special in their own way. We've also found that the most interesting type of people seem to stay there, leading to stimulating conversation over breakfast or a lovely chat in the evening. However, there are plenty of places for complete privacy if you don't wish to mingle.

If you want a chain hotel atmosphere, this is not the place for you.
If you like charming surprises and quality environment, you'll enjoy this place.

We'll be back.......again and again....

This is a fantastic place to stay.
Great rooms.
Great location.
Great staff.
If you are going to LA and want something a bit quirky but still very comfortable, this is it.If you want a super de-lux modern box then pass on,but for us this has to be one of the best big city hotels.
To enjoy LA from here you need a car but the fast links are easy and you can get out of town quickly as well, and parking is free.
If anyone wants more then please contact me,but to give a clear idea,I went down one night for a glass of white wine during the free wine hour[or 2],I was told sorry its all gone but have a bottle of Champagne instead !!

This is a beautiful bed and breakfast. Our room was perfect and we were given cookies on check in. They give you wine and cheese in the evenings and the staff are extremely helpful. They also have bikes you can use for the day. The only down side is it is quite a walk from santa monica town centre (20 mins). If this doesn't bother you then this is a great place to explore the city.

This was our last stop on a busy two week visit to The States. This lovely upmarket B&B is about a mile north of the centre of Santa Monica. Our room wasn't huge but very lovely with nice 'antique' furniture, big fluffy towels in the bathroom and a handwritten welcome note and cookies on the bedside table. Delicious breakfasts and very helpful friendly staff. Fresh flowers everywhere and nice touches such as beach towels left out for anyone to use, bicycles available at no cost and photocopies of directions to just about anywhere a visitor to LA might want to go.
There's no air conditioning but a big electric fan in the room. With the windows open the noise from the nearby freeway was slightly intrusive but this was the only slight drawback to an otherwise delightful experience.

Spent the weekend in Los Angeles for meetings and had an amazing stay at the Channel Road Inn. Reservations, confirmation and check in was all organized, parking your car a few steps from the front door is a real plus. Our suite was huge, comfy bed, quiet, nice clean, large bathroom, minutes away from the beach and easy access to LA for meetings. Tasty breakfast added to the charm. Escape from the hotel routine, try this one out.

In case there's any doubt, we echo the positive comments. The location is a short walk to the beach and near the Pacific Coast Highway, close to Malibu. The rooms are fine. But the best part is the service. Everyone was pleasant and helpful--with a total service orientation. If we visited Santa Monica more often, we would want to keep this place a secret to increase the chances that there would be room for us. The major chains could learn a lot from the Channel Road Inn.
