As a resident of Santa Monica, I have been thinking about what attractions I should write about that would give a visitor a taste of what locals do in this city by the sea. So after you have seen the Pier and the 3rd Street Promenade, I recommend taking a power yoga class with Bryan Kest. Power Yoga is not for everyone, but if you are in decent shape and you want a good stretch / workout, it's worth a try. The classes are donation-based ($15 is recommended). You can rent a mat. There is no membership or hidden fees. It's a great way to spend one and a half hours.
